Chapter four

I took a shower and put on a yellow sun dress. I tied the yellow ribbon around my waist and grabbed some yellow flats. The next thing I did was grab a yellow hat. I walked straight for the bathroom to put it on my curled hair. Grabbing my also yellow purse, I flew down the stairs, grabbing my camera on the way out.

It was a very nice day out so I sat on the swinging bench on my porch. The ring on my finger gleamed in the sunlight. It shot rays of rainbows all over the rain stained porch. I smiled at the beautiful rainbows. My daydreaming was interrupted by footsteps. I looked up still smiling and watched Chris walk over to me. He was wearing a nice button down shirt and some brown slacks. He grabbed my ringed hand and pulled me to my feet. "Well you look beautiful. Did I ever tell you how much I love your new hair?" he asked looking down at me. "Nope! But thanks anyways!" I replied smiling. The conversation ended as we walked down the side walk. "So where are we going!?" I asked excitedly. "We are having a picnic my dearest lover!" he said, looking down at me once more. We kept walking under the blazing sun. The sky was all clear, with not one cloud in site. The wind was slightly blowing making it the perfect temperature. We rounded a corner and I finally realised this area. It was the park that Chris and I met at as children.

Flashback

3rd person

She was at the park with her mommy. She was only five. Her mom held her hand as they crossed the street over to the playground. "Mommy! Mommy! Lookie over there! It's a castle!" She yelled excitedly pointing in the direction of the play ground. "It sure is sweetheart." her mom answered smiling. Clair started started jumping up and down and pulling her mom faster towards the play ground. "Wo! Hold your horses Clair!" she laughed as Clair continued pulling, not making any progress. When they got to the playground, she freed her hand and Clair ran to the sand surrounded castle. "Be careful!" her mom yelled after her. "Ooooh." She said to herself. There in front of her was a spiraling slide. She pointed at it and looked over to her mom to show her what She had found. Her mother yelled something at to her but didnt hear her for she was too distracted by the slide. She hopped onto the plastic surface. She pushed off and screamed with enjoyment as She went down. Before She knew it, She was face planted in the hard wood chips.

Now if you think about it, watching some little girl fall on her face would be somewhat funny however, not to Christian it wasn't.

She sat there confused but then actually felt the pain. She lifted her head up in a childish matter and wined with pain. A pair of bony arms flew around her body in a tight hug. "Are you otay?" a little high pitched voice had said. She stopped my crying and looked up, open mouthed at the little boy speaking to her. He had a concerned face as he was hugging her. He unwrapped his arms and walked around to her front. He grabbed her hands. Only to be grunting. He pulled and tugged her hands. "I jus can't get you up." he said with his lip poking out. He sighed and tugged again. This time, Clair helped him pull her up. He stood about a cenimeter taller. They stood so close, Clair could smell his lolly pop breath. She leaned in and pecked him on the cheek. "Tank you wittle boy." she said with such gratitude and truethfullness. "You saved my life." she said again. He looked down. His cheeks starting to become a slight pink. "Your cheeks are red." she said again. He blushed even more and kept his gaze down. He thought, she is weally cute. I like her. "Why don't you look at me!" she yelled. She bent down trying to see his face. Another blush had formed. The two little children had soon left. The only thing was that they never found out each others names.

End of flashback

They crossed the street, hand in hand, making their way for the little hill covered in shade. They drew out a blanket and set it down. Chris pulled out a some paper plates with forks and knives. They ate in silence acationally glancing up into each others eyes. When they finished, Clair gazed into Chris's eyes, finding something recognizable. This young man in front of her was the same boy who had "saved her life" as a child. She gasped. "What." chris said. "Do you remember at all helping a little girl up from falling into the wood chips after going down a slide!" she said excitedly hoping that he would remember. "Why yes. Yes I do. I had had the biggest crush on her ever since she had kissed me on the cheek. It wasn't until I had met you that first day of school that I stopped liking her." he said with such longing. "Look into my eyes. Do you see that little girl." she said. He looked up into those dazzling emerald eyes. He was lost in amazment at how beautiful her eyes were. He then realized that that was the little girl he had helped up so long ago. He gasped. Clair smiled and placed a kiss on his cheek, just like in their childhood. They held hands until the day grew old and the night began to pass over. They gathered up their things and began their walk back home, wondering what the next day would bring.
