Chapter seven

I grabbed my keys and bolted down the stairs. I couldn't wait to share my excitement with Chris. My mom stopped me before I could make it for the door. She hugged me. Pulled away, still her hands gripping my arms, just smiling. She looked at peace. With my brother in the army, me getting married is kind of a miracle for the family. Oh I do miss Chris.... I pulled away, yelling I love her and walked into the chilly night air. I walked to my car and before reaching for the handle, I remembered my purse. I ran back to the house, opening the door, I saw my mom sitting on the stairs fumbling with her fingernails. I squeezed past her and ran up the stairs. I grabbed my purse and saw my jacket in my closet next to the blue strapless dress. I smiled thinking back to the day I broke up with my ex because he ruined my dress. I laughed aloud. How immature I was. But I made the right choice. Back in the car, I pulled out slowly being careful not to hit anything. As I was on my way, I noticed that it was a full moon. The sky was clear with many twinkling stars. I saw a family of deer on the mountain as I drove by. Everything I see leads back to memories with Chris. Why? The next thing I knew, a car pulled in front of me. It went by in a blur. There I was smiling to myself thinking about Chris, and I got hit. Strange things happen when your in love. I talked to the police, an ambulance came, but everyone was fine. Except my car. It wasn't going to be fixable. A tow truck came by and picked up my car, he asked if I needed a ride. I said no, and that my fiancé's house was only a block away. I called my mom letting her know what happened and reassured her that I was fine and that I would just walk to Chris's house. It took several minutes to finally calm her down and hang up and say goodbye. I walked through the night and clung to my jacket. I was almost to his house. The only light on was the light of the front room. He must be home alone. Another car was there so I just thought it was his aunt or somebody. I looked into the window and saw him. It was just a glance, but I looked back and saw something that I thought could have never happened. I fell to my knees. My eyes blurred and tears streamed down my face. My purse lay beside me. I felt even colder than I had ever felt. My heart tugged. My sole almost left me. I felt light headed. I would not let myself pass out in front of his house. I looked down and put my face in my lap. I tried wiping away some tears but stopped myself. As I fingers lightly bushes my face, I felt a cold smooth surface. I looked down to my left hand and saw a ring there. The little woven loops framing a picture in my eyes. What does that mean? Infinity. Right. If felt weird having it there. I took it off and just looked at the strange object. Does this ring mean anything? I was struck with shock and sadness. I looked up and saw again what I had fell on my knees for. I fought myself to stand up. I rose to one foot and then the other. The ring in my hand felt small and intricate. But worth nothing. I was overcome by anger. Tears dripping off my face, staining my blue jacket. Blue. The blue strapless dress. I found myself fiddling with the ring in my fingers. I looked up one last time. And chucked it at the clear window. The next thing I heard was the shattering of a window. Chris jumped up. Separating his lips from Mika. He looked out into the darkness. He came across my figure. Standing there. Mascara lining my cheeks. My hands held together. Grasping at my jacket. I sob broke through my lips. It scared me. I looked around myself confused. And realized that it was me. Chris locked eyes with me. He had tears in his eyes. This sight pissed me off. Before I could stop myself, I yelled to him, not at him, "Why are you crying! Oh! I know why! It's because you were to absorbed in your cheating fantasy to see that you wouldn't get caught! Well guess what!? I figured it out! I can't believe you! You told me you loved me! You told me you loved me..." another sob and a water fall of tears followed. "I.... I... I hate you!!" with that, I grabbed my purse, went over to Mika's car, punched the glass, ignoring the pain. I walked away. My heart yanking myself to stay back and talk things out. I kept walking. I covered up my mouth. I hated this. I ripped my jacket off. The scarf going down with it. I threw off my boots, letting them go as I ran. I ran like I never had run before. I forced myself to keep running. My hand dripping blood. My heart torn out. My legs burning. My heart rate going up a mile. I pumped my legs harder. I had to get away. Away from here. I past my street not looking back. I was so tired. I wanted to stop so bad. But I couldn't. It just gave me more persuasion to push harder. I would not look back. I grabbed my wallet and phone out of my purse and shoved them into my pockets. Dropping my purse as I went. I finally stopped. It had been atleast an hour of running nonstop. I found myself in the play ground where I first met Chris. I ran my fingers along. The cold smooth plastic slide remembering the times. I climbed underneath a slide, where I used to hid from my mom. She never found me. I still barely fit. I curled up in a ball. Finally feeling the coldness of my sweat mix with the temperature outside. Cooling me down. And finally freezing. I never remembered falling asleep.

Mika's POV

I moaned into his sweet mouth. Shattering glass flew everywhere. Chris moved away and stood. He looked outside and saw, standing there, Clair. My eyes got huge. "Why are you crying! Oh! I know why! It's because you were to absorbed in your cheating fantasy to see that you wouldn't get caught! Well guess what!? I figured it out! I can't believe you! You told me you loved me! You told me you loved me.. I.... I... I hate you!!" she screeched at him. She looked all dolled up. Besides her mascara running down her face. She kept mouthing the last sentence. It all happened so fast. She slammed her fist into my car window. I had just gotten that car today. The next thing I knew, she was sprinting down the street. Chris just stood there. I looked down at my hands and saw something in my lap. At first I thought it was a piece of glass, but as I looked closer, it was her engagement ring. The two little loops linking together forming and infinity sign. I picked up up carefully. I took a closer look at the ring. In the diamonds, you could barely see letters carved into the band. I moved it around a bit more and realized what it said. "Sorry."

Hey guys!! I really am sorry! Does it seem like these parts resembles the other chapters!? Let me know please! I wrote an extra long one! Just for you guys! It's my way of saying sorry!
