A Different Future

Chapter 23

It had been three months since I had the triplets and it was soon time for the final tasks

"Pip" I smiled seeing Cedric who came up and kissed me.

"Hey."

"So our parents are here. They've come for the final task."

"Really, lovely." We made our way into a classroom where my Mum was with Mr and Mrs Diggory.

"Mum" I hugged her

"Oh, darling look at you. You look amazing"

"Thank you" I just caught the end of Amos having a go at Harry.

"Leave him alone!" I stood beside Harry "It's not his fault, he never wanted this. Now go" I pointed back to where his wife and my mum was standing. Ced pulled him away.

"Sorry." he apologised to Harry. I turned to him and hugged him

"You'll do great I'm sure. Just keep clam and use your head. Okay." he nodded and I kissed his cheek.

"Good luck, little bro." I made my way back to my family. But folded my arms

"Phillipa so good to see you" Amos tried to be kind but I ignored him. Harry was like my brother and I didn't like people being mean to him.

"So how are the triples?" Mrs Diggory asked trying to break the tension. I smiled

"They're doing great. I just fed them so they are sleeping the time away. " she smiled

"I can't wait to meet them"

"As soon as this tournament is finished then you will. But mum will meet them first."

"Yes shall we." she was going to be keeping a eye on them while I watched the third task. Amos would be taking Cedric out, while Mrs Diggory sat with me. The band began playing as the champions came out.

"Poor Harry, he must be scared out of his wits" I commented

"Silence! " Professor Dumbledore called as he took to the stand. Everyone quietened down.

"Earlier today, Professor Moody placed the Tri-Wizard Cup deep within the maze. Only he know his exact position. Now, as Mr. Diggory..." Hufflepuff cheered and I laughed When Amos forced his hand up causing Cedric to be humble to force it back down and look at his Dad asking what he was doing.

"...and Mr. Potter." I cheered along with Gryffindor. "...are tied for first position they will be first to enter the maze, followed by Mr. Krum" Durmstrang cheered "...and Miss Delecour. First person to touch the coup will be the winner. I have instructed the staff to patrol the perimeter. Should at any point a contestant wish to withdraw from the task he or she need only send up red sparks with their wands." he informed us

"Contestants gather round, Quickly!" he talked to them for a minute before coming back.

"Champions, prepare yourselves." I took this time to quickly run down to Cedric. I turned him around and kissed him. There was wolf whistles as I pulled back

"Good luck" he smiled and I blushed with everyone looking at me as I made my way back to my seat.

"On the count of three. One..." the cannon went off and the band began playing again. Cedric went in and looked back before the maze closed up.

I covered my face, something was wrong I could just feel it. It was an hour or so, Fleur and Viktor had withdrawn and it was only Harry and Cedric.

"The band started playing again and I saw both of them. I ran down just as I heard Fleur scream. What? What was wrong?" I pushed my way through the crowds.

"He's back. He's back. Lord Voldamort is back." i heard Harry. Then i saw Cedric.

"Ced!" I yelled and ran next to him

"Is he..."

"No" I heard him take a large breath and he gripped onto me.

"Oh my god!" I exclaimed holding him as I started crying, I thought he was dead.

"Cedric!" Amos came over and dropped to his knees. I thought i had lost him. He was taken to the infirmary where he was questioned but they were called liars. No one wanted to believe that the Dark lord was back.

"Are you okay?" I asked

"I'm fine."

"You said you played dead?" he nodded

"He almost got me but I stopped him with a counter spell which knocked me unconscious. I woke up and Harry told me to stay down till we got back." It was then Harry came in.

"Harry!" I tackled him

"Thank you, thank you so much for helping him. And I believe you I don't want to believe he's back for the sake of everything but I know neither of you would lie."

"Thanks" he was tended to.

Cedric was given the prize money. Harry didn't want his share and told Cedric that he needed it more that Harry did. By now it was time for Durmstrang and Beaxbatons to leave. I bid my goodbyes to Fleur and Gabrielle before returning to the triplets

"How are they?" Ced ask coming in

"Sleeping well." he kissed my temple and put his arm around me

"I can't actually believe we're parents." he smiled

"I know but it's not going to be easy. Not only are there three but I have a feeling there are dark times coming. We'll need to protect them with everything we have."

"And we will I promise"
