Chapter 34 - Absentminded

Stephie's POV

I sling my handbag over my shoulder and make my way forwards to Sophie.

"Tired?" She asks as we walk down together the stairs of the plane.

"Yeah, I am. It was all too boring." And scary. And unimaginable. The pictures are still haunting me.

We walk towards the buses in silence as my hand comes to shield my eyes as the sun rays hit my eyes. My smile widens and I look up at the bright weather. I've missed Florida.

"Hey wait!" Michael's voice startles me, making me jump. What, is he following me? Well, probably not.

"Hmm?" I turn around, and raise my brows, unsure of how to respond to this.

"Do you mind taking a photo?" He says with a humble smile, a complete opposite of his behaviour. "With me?" And adds.

"Oh." I slowly nod, "okay." Noticing Sophie's crude smirk.

Why?

"Just for the sake of memories! God fuck!" He curses and I let out a laugh. He must've said that because of the most probable confused look on my face.

He grins back, and comes closer, pressing my cheek to his as he snaps the picture.

"Show?" I ask.

He passes me phone and I look at the hideous pic. "Delete!" I order- beg.

"Doesn't look that bad," he shakes his head but comes to his earlier position and I smile this time as the flash blinds me.

"This' cool." He smiles and nods agreeing, and passes the phone to me. "Yeah, it's cute." I pass the smile back.

"Are you both done or what?!" Sophie groans from behind and I turn around to notice her existence, I forgot about it momentarily.

"Yea, just. I'll better be going." He says and runs a hand through his blue hair, that I've grown to despise in the past few hours.

"Yeah. So bye?" I say awkwardly.

Sophie had to make this more awkward than this already was, obviously.

"Take care." Michael says and pulls me into a even more awkward- according to me half hug. His chin resting on my shoulder for a second or two before him pulling away and turning around to leave. "You too."

After a last exchange of smiles, he leaves.

"I really liked his hair." Sophie giggles as we sit in the cab and make our way towards our house.

"Hands down. Absolutely." I sarcastically say, shaking my head.

..

"Yeah, I'll be there after sometime. No I said- Oh look who we have here!" Dad exclaims, hanging on the phone as the door opened and pulling both me and Sophie in a big hug.

"I missed you Dad." I say into his chest.

"I missed you more daddy," my idiotic sister says, killing me with devilish eyes.

"Shut up!" I roll my eyes and pull apart from my father and walk further into the humongous house, absorbing in the changes.

"What have you done to this place?!"

"It's bad or good?" He questions with a chuckle with Sophie on his heels.

"Beautiful. Kinda more creative than it looked earlier." I smile at him. "Oh my god, did you change my room too?"
