Katie's POV
"Annabeth!" I yell. I love my best friend, but she gets distracted pretty easily. She whirls around, smiling. "Sorry!" She waits for me to catch up and we walk outside to have lunch.
"Something wrong?" I ask.
She hesitates, then says, "I invited Percy to sit with us at lunch," she said it fast, like one word.
I blink in surprise. "Well, cool!"
"Really?" She smiles at me in relief.

Travis's POV
"Yo, Percy!" I yell. He turns and yells back."Yo, Travis!"
I grin and jog to catch up with him. "Got any plans for lunch?"
He nods hesitantly, "Yeah, Annabeth invited me to sit with her and Katie,"
I blanch, and then decide to tease him about it. "Annabeth, huh?" I ask, wagging my eyebrows.
"Shut up," he says, shoving me. I laugh, and he says, "But what was that face I saw? Do I detect a wee crush on Miss Katie?"
We keep roasting each other until we find Annabeth and Katie.
Percy sits across from Annabeth and I sit next to him, across from Katie. Annabeth looks at him questioningly, but he just shrugs. She shakes her head, smiling.
"Wait!" Katie exclaims, "Did you two just have a silent conversation?"
They both blush and ignore the question. Katie and I roll our eyes at each other.
"Okay!" Percy interjects, "So I know practically nothing about you guys! Tell me about yourselves,"
Katie goes first. "I'm Katie Gardner. I love plants and running, and I'm 15 years old."
I follow her. "Okay so I'm Travis Stoll, and I like to prank people and make others laugh. I'm 15, too."
Annabeth blushes before she speaks. "I'm Annabeth Chase, and I like to read and design buildings. I'm 15."
Percy grins at her, then says, "I'm Percy Jackson. I like to swim and see people smile, and I'm 15."
The lunch bell rings, and Percy and I walk towards our next class. "Dude," I start, "Annabeth is so into you!"
He punches my arm. "Naw, man, she wouldn't be into me. No way!"
"But you're into her, right?"
"No."
