"He's alive, Isn't he?!" I spat at him, venom dripping from my every word.
He avoided my gaze as I stared into his eyes.
"Fucking look at me Lykan!"
"Yes Cali, he's alive."
----------------------
"You're Lying! He can't be! You're fucking lying to me, He's dead! I know he is! I saw his body!" I screamed as I clenched my fists so tight my knuckles turned white. Tears rolled down my face, I internally screamed.
Why would this happen-How could this happen?! It's a lie, he couldn't be alive. I'd know it, wouldn't I?
Looking up at Lykan, I could see it. The light behind his eyes. Did he think this was funny?! My dead brother, alive again? It was messed up. It was a cold blooded lie!
"Don't look at me like that! If you think," I began, my voice breaking into a cry, "this is some sort of sick joke-"
"It's no joke Cali, Dakota's alive-" My blood was boiling with rage as I turned and slapped Lykan across the face, leaving a mark. "-I swear to god! If you're messing with me-"
Lykan grabbed my wrists and pulled me close to his face, so close I could feel his smoke painted breath hot on my tear stained cheeks.
"Listen to me, Andrew will be in soon. You blow this, it's all over and you'll never see Kody again. We get out of here, alive, you'll have your happy family reunion, okay?" He said calmly, as if dying was an everyday occurrence to him.
Well, I've never been in a gang, so I wouldn't know. And I wasn't sure I wanted to.
"Alive, what do you mean, 'get out of here alive'? Why wouldn't we be able to leave safely?" I asked, ripping my arms from grasp and regaining my composure.
Lykan was just about to speak up when Andrew appeared again, this time, more worried and jittery than he had been. "Lee. Cali." We both looked at Andy and knew something wasn't right.
That's when we heard it. The gun fire. First the single shot, then the car door and the shatter of glass. Next thing I knew, I was peering out of the window, to see two guys; one holding a gun; he was smaller, thinner, agile looking, and the other a baseball bat; this man was large, tall, bald and slow.
Both of them beating the crap out of Lykan's car, earning a low grunt of desperation from him.
Looking to my right, he was pacing the room, left hand in his pocket, right hand on the gun tucked into the waistband of his jeans. "Caliss-Cali, we're going." He headed to the door, tailing Andrew.
When I didn't move, he turned, his feet gliding across the floor towards me. His eyes hardened, and momentarily glared at me, but seconds later he stopped in front of me and his gaze softened.
I crossed my arms, telling him I wasn't going, that I wanted answers.
"Cali, you'll get them, I just need to get you and Andrew, the three of us, out of here. Alive." Lykan sighed, but I didn't move.
"-What do you mean me? I'm not under threat from Cole." Andrew interrupted from behind Lykan.
Lee turned his back to me, "You are now, you told us about Nate. And you knew what you were getting yourself into when I stepped through that door." He broke off, I heard a few murmurs of disapproval from Andrew, before Lykan exhaled turning back to me.
"Do you trust me Cali?" He whispered stepping closer. I honestly didn't have a answer, I didn't even know the guy. I slightly shook my head, as I took a deep breath, stepping backwards.
