Chapter 2

Kodi found himself in a dark area of the forest." Hello." He said as his voice echoed throughout the area. He perked his ears." Anyone here?" A twig snapped, and a grimacing laugh trailed throughout the forest. Kodi could only see outline of shapes and many pairs of eyes especially. A blue eye and green eye." Who are you!" Kento barged out of the bushes, behind him his pack followed. The wolves surrounded him, so he couldn't escape." My name is Kento!" He said through bared teeth.

Kodi looked for gaps, in between the wolves, but they were shoulder to shoulder." You will join your father, in your death." Before Kodi could respond the wolves pounced on him, until there was nothing but darkness.

"Arrghh!" Kodi woke up, he panted, he looked round." Phew only a dream it was only a dream." Kodi was about to go back to sleep, when he heard a twig snap. An outline of a shape appeared. He shot up, and was about to run away when a wolf appeared in front of him. Kodi looked back to the shape it's yellow eyes shone brightly." Who are you, and what do you want with me?" Kodi craned his neck, until he could see who it was. It was a dark grey wolf." Relax young one, we are guardians." Saul appeared." So your not going to hurt me?" Kodi said in relief." No unless your a rouge." Saul laughed." We are here, to get you." Kodi dipped his head to the side." What do you mean?"

Ruko snorted." Jeez does this kid never stop asking questions!" Saul growled at Ruko." Ignore him, the moon has chosen, you to join us. Now come with us and we will explain everything on the way." Kodi barked." What do I get a say in this?" Saul looked at the young wolf." You remind me of volic." Kodi sighed." Who's volic?" Akira spoke, her beautiful white coat, shone in the sunlight and her blue eyes dazzled, like stars in the night sky." Volic was a great guardian, he would put his own life in danger for sake of forest. Even bears, and puma bowed their heads to him. All animals honoured him. Then one night he sacrificed his life, to save forest." Saul coughed." Yes well Kodi, would you like to join us and become a guardian?"

Kodi thought about his pack, after all even though he was promoted to gamma, everyone still treated him like a omega. Then he thought about Loki his only friend. Maybe he will forget him like everyone else will." Fine, I will join." Saul nodded his grey head." Good choice young one, now we must be on our way."

For the whole journey Kodi didn't say a word. Soon they arrived at a cave." Is this where you stay?" Kodi said in disappointment Saul shook his head." No this is the entrance now follow me." Kodi followed the guardians, through the cave until they came out the other end." This is where we stay." Kodi looked in awe at the beautiful scenery." It's amazing." Kodi looked up to see formations of geese." These geese are the ones that alert us, if anything goes on in the forest, they are like our watchers." Suddenly a large geese flew down and saluted to Saul." Hello sir we have no news on kento yet." Saul nodded." Thank you. Sgt. Rhy." The goose, dipped his head. And he took to the sky, shouting orders at the other geese.

"That's sgt. Rhy, he is in charge of all the geese." Luka said." So if you don't mind me asking where will I be staying?" Saul barked at luka." Luka show kodi where he will be staying." Luka bowed his head." Yes Saul." "Come on kid." Kodi followed the brown wolf." So is Saul in charge of here?" Luka nodded." Well normally it is tradition that the pup of the great guardian, became the next leader. Unfortunately we haven't encountered volic's pup. So Saul being volic's apprentice he became the next leader." Kodi cooed." So it is like in a wolf's blood to be the next great guardian?" Luka nodded." Yes. Anyway here is why you will be staying. Each and every one of us gets our own den, so we do get our own privacy." Luka said goodbye to Kodi and trotted away.

Kodi yawned and flopped down, and straight away he went to sleep.
