As I bike down the quiet street
I get away from their deceit
The small town passes me by
I wipe the tears from my eyes
If I could finally just escape
Maybe then I could fix the break
I bike out of this small town
Pass by a lake and slow down
Stop my bike and walk to a tree
I'm alone, there's no one but me
I lean against the tree and cry
Theirs no way for me to ask why
Completely trying to let go
My mind right now is my only foe
Listen to the sound of the lake
Waiting for my heart to just break
How could it happen like this
How could I possibly miss
All the signs that were so clear
My hope and trust disappear
Losing everything I loved
Praying for help from above
I know no ones listening
My wounds are still blistering
I grab my bike and walk away
Nowhere to go nowhere to stay
Getting on my bike and riding
As the sun goes into hiding
The sky's colours are so soothing
As the big windmills keep moving
Cap on my head, as I escape
A bag on my back fixed with tape
I will never return to my home
My pain could fill an entire tome
I don't know where I'm going at all
I need to move before I can fall
Leaving here is all I can do now
The curtain closing, I take a bow
Not for a second slowing my pace
I will move from this place, to that place
