In the cold summer night breeze
I lay in the soft grass and freeze
But I really don't mind the cold
This night makes me feel so bold
Stopping my thoughts of tomorrow
Letting go of pain and sorrow
Focus on the gorgeous starry sky
Bidding the pretty day good bye
The full moon shines so bright
Bathing the world in it's light
I listen to the river close by
As I try to hear a bird cry
The breeze, river, and star filled sky
Give me the strong urge to sigh
The dark shadows surrounding me
Caused by the light through a tree
The dark sky is starting to pale
I get up and search for a trail
Find one leading through the woods
I pull on my sweater with a hood
I bide the clearing a quiet adieu
Walking home as the sky turns blue
Can't believe I sat there adoring
All the way from night till morning
