Marco:
I didn't see Rita this recess and now lunch time, she wasn't at the bench where I saw her on our first day. She wasn't there too yesterday until I encountered that incident in the oval. Now I'm wondering what if she's absent today because of what happened? I hope it's not. I was awakened from my musing when somebody spoke.
"Hi classmates! Pwedeng maki-share ng table sa inyo?"
Oh, it was Heaven and what surprised me is she's with Morones. Iyong nakasagutan ko lang naman kahapon. "Sure." I said as I looked at Aizan and Edward whose gazes were already at me. I even felt Edward elbowed me secretly. She sat across me which was beside Aizan while Morones sat next to her on the other side.
"Why you guys so quiet?" she asked.
"'Cos they're eating." Morones stated the obvious then he laughed.
"I hope you are okay now after what have happened yesterday." I uttered out of the blue.
He raised his brow. "You care so much of her. How she's related to you? Anak ba siya ng maid niyo?" he retorted without looking at me.
At the corner of my eye, I'm aware of my two companions confuse look so as Heaven but I was speechless at this guy's reply. I couldn't believe he would say that.
"Ala eh, ano bang nangyari?" I heard Aizan while Edward stayed silent.
"Never mind." he then smirked.
"Just so you know, she's not our maid's daughter. At kahit na anak pa siya ng katulog, hindi ka dapat ganyan. Don't look down on her. She's my friend."
"Christian, enlighten me. Ano bang nangyayari?" hindi na mapigilang sumingit si Heaven.
Pero wala nang sumasagot sa amin.
"If you don't have any plan to tell us, focus on your foods." saway ni Edward.
Rita:
Sabi ni Fenech maghanap kami ng pwede naming matambayan tuwing recess at lunch. Sinuggest ko iyong maraming benches na malapit lang sa canteen subalit nang puntahan namin ang lugar ay marami nang nandoon kaya umalis rin kami kaagad. Sa park malapit sa likod ng estatwa ng unibersidad kami napunta at naupo sa damuhan.
"Oh 'di ba? Para tayong nagpi-picnic lang?" ani Fenech habang nilalabas ang kulay orange na Tupperware.
"Oo nga eh. Eh di, dito na tayo lagi?" tanong ko habang kinukuha ko na rin ang baunan ko sa bag.
"Depende pa rin naman. Pwede pa rin naman doon sa tinuro mo eh kung kaunti lang naman ang tao."
"Okay..."
"Hindi ka ba natutuwa rito?"
"Hindi ah, natutuwa nga ako na may kasabay na ako eh." ningitian ko siya.
"Talaga?" tumatawa na parang hindi naniniwala ang hitsura niya.
"Oo." tumawa na rin ako.
Marco:
I don't know why I'm getting frustrated about not seeing Rita the whole day. Maybe I'm just worried. Siguro kapag nakita ko siyang okay, matatahimik rin ako. Kaya nang mag-uwian na dali-dali akong lumabas ng classroom.
I peeked in their classroom where I saw her went in that morning but it was already empty. Paano ko nga naman siya maaabutan kung nauuna silang umuwi kaysa sa'min?
