I jolted awake, not realizing that I was back in my room, frantically I searched around the room to try and find Holt and kick his ass once again but couldn't find anyone. Pushing the sleeping bag off my body I looked down and noticed that I was in the same clothes from the night before, which meant that I hadn't changed before going to bed. Oh god, it really had happened, it wasn't a dream. The realization struck me in the chest and I held in my screams, not wanting to alert anyone if they were still in the house. Tip-toeing down the stairs I listened to any sounds that would tell me where they were, but to my surprise it was dead quiet, but I wouldn't put my guard down until I was sure they weren't here. I could hear something coming from the kitchen, it sounded like singing but I couldn't be sure from the stairs so I made the decision to figure out what it was, which meant walking over to the kitchen. What I found was Ashely dancing in front of the stove with the spatula in her hand as a microphone, signing her heart out. I tired to hold my laughter in but I soon found it bursting out of my mouth in a fury of giggles, she screamed and dropped the spatula before turning and scowling towards me.
"Sorry, I just couldn't help it, I never knew you could sing." I said, trying to catch my breath.
"Well, I only do in the kitchen and shower." She stated and turned back to the stove, focusing on whatever she was cooking.
"I have a weird question to ask you and you can't think that I'm crazy." I told her, hoping that I was just overreacting and it was all a dream, but I knew that it wasn't.
"Okay, I'll try to hold my judgment."
"Did anyone come to visit us last night?" It was the best way to ask that question, didn't sound like I was losing my mind.
"No, but know that you mention it Nathaniel came over for a visit while you were still asleep." She stated, like it wasn't a big deal.
"What!" I shouted, causing her to drop the spatula once again.
"Would you stop that." She snapped at me, which shocked me and caused me to quickly close my mouth. "Sorry, it's just I don't like it when you yell at me."
"No, I'm sorry. It's my fault, I won't do it again." I assured her and walked to see what she was cooking. It was a mess, I don't even know what she was trying to cook and when I looked up at her I saw her disappointment.
"I was trying to cook breakfast, I thought since you made it yesterday it would only be fair that I made it today. Or tired to make it, I was never good at cooking." She mumbled under her breath, almost like she was ashamed by the fact.
"Cooking isn't for everyone," I stated. "How about we go out for breakfast and you can help me with dinner."
"Oh!" She jumped, causing me to stumble back and hit the Island. "Before I forget we were invited to a barbeque tonight, Nathaniel and his family want to welcome us into town. I thought it was nice of them. His wife was even here, she was nice and really wanted to meet us, I don't think she has a lot of friends."
"I don't like them, they give off the wrong vibes and I don't think Holt likes me very much." I whispered the last part, there was something deep inside me that was actually sadden with the statement.
"Really, because I don't think you hate him like you say, not with what you were moaning last night." She giggled and dumped her attempt in the trash.
"Excuse me?" I asked, completely mortified with her statement.
"You were moaning his name last night in your sleep, sounded like you were enjoying yourself." She mused, walking by me and heading towards the stairs.
