I awoke to the smell of pancakes and coffee. Turning over, I smiled at seeing Fred gently pushing open the door to my room, a tray with breakfast foods on it in his hands. I sat up and rubbed my hands over my face.

"Good morning, birthday girl." He said as he walked towards me and set the tray of food in front of me.

"Good morning. What is all this?" I asked as I pushed my hair back behind my ears and looked down at the tray.

"Chocolate chip pancakes, chocolate syrup, whipped cream, and chocolate sprinkles. Oh, and a cup of coffee. Your birthday special." He said as he sat at the foot of my bed and smiled over at me. A small smile spread across my face as I looked at him in awe.

"You remembered." I said quietly.

"Of course I did." Fred said with a smile on his face. I just looked at him, remembering all my past birthdays that him, George and Kat would come over early in the morning and make me breakfast on my birthday. We all did it for each other. It was a sort of ritual.

"Well, eat up before it doesn't taste good anymore." Fred said as he motioned to the sugar loaded breakfast. I grinned up at him, before grabbing the knife and fork provided and digging in.

"Gwen!" Kat yelled as I heard her footsteps coming down the hall.

"Oh no, the birthday monster has arrived. " I said in a mocking fear-whisper to Fred. He laughed at me, before turning back to his work.

"In here, darling!" I called out as I took another bite of my sandwich.  The footsteps increased, before she came running into my room and plopped onto the bed.

"Guess what today is!" she said with a smile on her face.

"Tuesday?" I said, playing dumb.

"And what is special about this Tuesday?" she asked.

"It's in June?" I suggested, still playing dumb.

Kat rolled her eyes and nodded. "And what is so special about this Tuesday in June?" she asked.

"It's in 2012!" I exclaimed. Kat let out a groan of frustration, making Fred and I chuckle softly.

"It's your birthday, silly!" she told me.

"Really? You don't say?" I said mockingly as I smirked.

"Very cute, birthday girl. Now, what are we going to do?" she asked.

"Celebrate very quietly?" I suggested hopefully. Last thing I wanted was some big party.

Kat narrowed her gaze at me and frowned a little.

"Gweneth, when was the last time you went out and partied?" she asked me.

"Never." I said shortly after wincing when she used my full name.

"Okay, when was the last time you just had fun? Baby free?" she asked. I paused and pondered this thought.

"Before I became pregnant." I told her finally.

"Exactly! That was like, a whole year ago. It is time for you to have some fun! Which is why we're having a party tonight. Here at the house." She told me excitedly.

"We can't. What about Jeremy?" I said.

"Already taken care of. Jeremy is spending the night with my brother Jamie, who is going to be at home all night watching Desperate Housewives." Kat said calmly.

"I'm not getting out of this, am I?" I asked, already knowing the answer.

"Nope!" Kat cried cheerfully.I rolled my eyes at my best friend's excitement and nodded.
