Chapter 31-Vacation.

I knocked on the door to the home of my aunt and I was surprised to see Kirsten.

"Kirsten!" I screamed and hugged her. She hugged me back. "Surprise!". "I had no idea you were going to be here!". I saw a white boy approach us from the kitchen.

Kirsten walked over to him. "Lauren, Paul, this is Kyle Jusczky. My fiance". She held her hand up to flash the bright piece of diamond jewelry. I hugged her again.

"I'm so happy for you two!" I squealed. I didn't totally agree with them being engaged so young, but Kirsten was smart and Kyle seemed really level headed.

My other family members came from out the kitchen to see me.

It was only two days before Christmas. I wasn't spending the holidays in Baltimore though. Paul and I were going to spend our 3 days of vacation in Hawaii.

We had already dropped Cain and Diesel off at the dogsitter, and now I was making a quick stop to say bye to some of my family members from out of state who were staying in Baltimore the next few days.

"Merry early Christmas" I told them. I love my family, but I was ready to go. 'I needed this vacation badly'.
