Palkadon walked along the perimeter of his cave. Misty was sitting in a corner staring at him as if he had grown a horn in between his eyes.
"Stop staring at me, Misty." Palkadon demanded.
"It is hard not to stare, I do not know what to think of what you have become." Misty replied.
"I have to be more than I was. I'm Infinity king now, stop it."
"You have become less of Palkadon and more of father. You are not a fair ruler. You became Infinity king because no one objected, not because they wanted you there."
"I am nothing like that son of Seere. I am a fair ruler. I was following the law, just as all Infinity kings before me, and shall the ones after me."
"They made that mistake, They thought that a fair ruler was the right ruler. They made no change, They were all the same. 'If it is fair then I am good.' That is what they thought."
"They were right, dragons need to be controlled, without fairness, all of Kilo crumbles."
"Maybe you need to think, do you want dragons to trust you, or to hate you."
"You have no room to talk."
"So what? I am just set aside now that you are king? Do I even matter to you anymore?"
"Yes sister, you do but you are wrong, I do not need your input anymore, I am king I make my own decisions."
"Then why am I even here?"
"You live here with me."
"Well I do not anymore."
"Fine then, leave."
Misty headed to the mouth of the cave. She started to sob as she took off. Palkadon tried to stop her but he was too late, she flew off without another word.
"What have I done?" He asked himself.
Palkadon walked in circles in the cave, wondering what to do.
"Come on Palkadon, think."
He stopped after a couple minutes and looked to the sky.
"O Great Dragon Lord, I need your help. Find my sister." Palkadon prayed.
Misty was not going to come back. The king knew that for sure. Palkadon flew outside of the cave and twisted through the mountains. A mountain goat sat stranded on a cliff edge and bellowed in anger as it tried to get down. Palkadon might have killed it if Misty were still at the cave but since she was not, he left the goat to its misery. He ducked under an arch and spiraled around a mountain top. He flew with sonic speed up to the clouds and spiraled downward with a roar. The lake finally came in view and Palkadon leveled out and landed calmly on the beach. The line of Guardians were behind him and the salt water lake smelled of salt and blood.
"Blood? Where is that smell coming from?" Palkadon whispered silently.
He took off and surveyed the whole lake. A small light blue body was visible on the beach on the Infinity border.
"Misty!" Palkadon yelled.
He whipped downward and threw all of his weight at the little motionless body. Misty lay at the beach and her head was almost completely covered in sand and her foreleg lay at an awkward angle at her side. Her side was moving slowly up and down.
"Good, you're breathing." Palkadon whispered.
He tore the sand away from her and grabbed her wing. He gently dragged her off the sand and onto the rocks at the bottom of the Snowdust Mountains. They were the mountains that surrounded the lake.
