"Mom! Did you get the mail on the way home," I asked. "Of course. You seem really excited. Are you okay?" she asked. "Oh, I'm fine. More than okay actually! Oh yeah, I'm expecting my best report card of all time," I told her. Now she looked totally freaked out. "Do you know any body from Maine? It says 'To: Angelina From ___' and our address, but their address only says 'Maine'!" She's really freaking out, now. "Chill Mom! It's my old friend... uh... Anna! She moved last year. I'm shocked she remembered our address." I was lying, but as far as I knew, she believed every little bit of it. "You had another friend you didn't tell me about?" she said. I took the envelope to my room. 'Now, I want to see this', I thought. I opened it and read what I thought was written in blood, but that's crazy right?:
'Six days you'll have a new incident... in four days you'll meet someone new... five days you'll get in an accident... day and night I'll be watching you.'
Okay, I admit, that's really creepy until, I saw blood. Maybe I gave myself a paper cut. I washed my hands. 'That's funny (meaning strange, of course)'I thought, 'I'm ... not ... bleeding?' I glanced towards the note and noticed that the writing was bleeding.... I stood there in shock and watched as the writing seeped in and oozed out a new one: 'I'm watching you.' 'Smart note' I thought. So I spoke up. "Who ar- what are you and what do you want?" Again, the note changed: 'Four days'. "Answer my questions!" No reply.
On the fourth day, the note came to life. "Students, you have a new classmate," Mr.Claden announced. He loves to talk. "Would you like to introduce yourself to your new class?" "No thanks. I'll pass,"he said. "Well, today were working on our Life Processes Lab, so choose your new PERMANENT partner,"stated Mr. Claden. The new kid gave me a leery feeling. A feeling that I can't quite point out. Like he had something to do with that note or like i've known him forever. " Oh and don't forget NOBODY can turn down the new student. If you have any questions, come see me. Have fun," Mr. Claden announced. The new kid stood center and front in the classroom and said "Who wants to be my partner?" All of the girls raised their hand, all except me. The last thing I needed was to become PERMANENT biology partners with someone that made me feel that uncomfortable. It has nothing to do with what he looks like, because he's gorgeous.
Almost everybody was shouting, but he turned to Mr. Claden and mumbled something. Then he turned around and pointed at me. Mr.Claden stood up and said "alright, settle down. Angelina, come here." I wasn't gonna walk up in front of the whole class, just to turn down some creeper. That would just be a waste of energy. But then my conscience kicked in. 'Have sympathy,' it said. Stupid conscience, but I followed it. I walked up to Mr. Claden. "What, your royal ignoramus?" I asked. "You will be partners with him and you won't give him or me any problems. Understood?" Ooh! Mr. Claden is in a bad mood. But if he wants to play that game, so will I. "Aye-aye, Captain!" "Alright, you have an after school detention. Gives you two time to 'bond'. Is that clear, 'soldier'?" Well, someone's being a smart-alec. "Class, clean up. When you're done, you can leave," Mr. Claden said. As I walked out, the new kid said "hey, follow me." "Why," I asked. Do you wanna know something about the note?" Now I had to follow him. "Fine. Whatever. Just hurry," I said.
We walked to his locker. The hallway was vacant. "Well, that's a good thing," he said, breaking the leary silence in the hall. Now I'm confused. "What's a good thing," I asked. "Hey, my name's Austin\. Your name is Angelina Marie Kellsie Parks. You were born on January third, 1996, at 2:38 AM, during your Aunt Jenny's Party. You surprised," he asked. I'm scared, so I ask "how do you know all of my personal information?" He says "Do you really wanna know, Angel?" Angel, really? "No, see- ya!" I said. He caught me by the wrist. "What kind of creature are you ?" I was totally freaking. "You'll see. Very soon. Just remember the fifth day" he said. "But that's tomorrow!" I exclaimed. He let go and I turned to look at him but... he... was... gone?!?
