Letti was a little too ecstatic to hear what happened when I met her at my locker. She wanted every detail about art class. And when I was done she wanted credit for it all.
"I think a thank you is needed."
I sigh and roll my eyes, "Thank you."
She nods in satisfaction, winking at me before running off to her class. I shake my head as she stalks off probably feeling very proud of herself. Typical Letti. I trade out some of my books and grab a couple of new pencils since I let a little too many people borrow my original ones.
"Hey, Hera." I jump and drop my text books, again.
I sigh and begin to bend down but they're already being handed to me. I look up and find Max, handing me my text books with a smirk on his face.
I take them hesitantly, "Hi... Max."
"So unsure?" He asks curiously.
"Uh, yeah, ya know, because you're talking to me... again," I answer honestly.
"And that's weird?"
"A little, yeah."
He furrows his eyebrows, making him look like a little lost puppy, "Why's that?"
"Because you're Max Thunderman, everyone at school knows who you are, and me? Well, I'm..." I don't even know how to explain how average I am.
"You're a very talented person that I like talking to," He finishes my sentence. My eyes widen as he smiles charmingly.
Before I can say anything more, the bell rings, signaling first period's about to start.
"What class?" He asks, completely ignoring the still surprised expression on my face.
It takes me a second to respond, "Uh, English."
"Cool, I'll walk you."
I'm still so surprised at the whole thing I'm tempted to pinch myself to make sure I'm not dreaming.
"Um, okay."
We walk silently, it doesn't seem to bother him while it makes my thoughts more jumbled.
"Is there art class again today?" He suddenly asks. I nod.
"I'll be joining you again, by the way," He says, glancing at me and back to the hallway. I look at him, trying to find some sense in his recent actions. He is a prankster, I really hope I'm not the joke.
We stay silent until we come to my class, he turns to me with a grin.
"I'll see ya later, Hera," He says. The way he says my name makes my heart flutter.
I give a small wave as he disappears down the hall. I sigh before walking into the classroom, holding onto my books with a death grip.

I tried not to keep looking at the door but I couldn't help myself. I've seen him randomly throughout the day and each time he would ask me random questions about me, like my birthday or favorite color. I don't mind, I actually like when he asks stuff like that because then I can ask back.
I look at my painting, staring at it, trying to figure out what's missing. There's the crow, the black and white sunset background, the creepy tree also in the background. This is how I pictured it in my mind so I don't know why I feel like it isn't done yet.
"Hey," Max says, making me jump like he has every time he's come up to me today.
"Hi," I breathe. I really need to get used to him popping up all the time.
