Hollowstar's Gift

Chapter 2

I laid in my nest the tip of my tail touching my nose. I blinked at the morning sun. It was a very long night last night. Roseleap had her kits but she had died moments later due to complications. I have a feeling that they blamed it on me that she died. I knew the herb to help her but dropped it while running it to them. All they did was yell at me, Gorsepaw tried to defend me but it was no use. Redtuft yelled at me and scratched me and made me loose my jay feathers which I had to go find. Redtuft and Roseleap had four kits but one died. Redtuft named them Streamkit, Beetlekit, and Birdkit. Streamkit is a pale gray tom, Beetlekit is a light brown tabby tom, and Birdkit is an orange shecat with black paws. Brackenkit, Poppykit, and Brownkit became apprintices and Rainpaw and Wildpaw became warriors. Rainpaw became Rainstorm and Wildpaw became Wildleaves. Wildleaves became Brackenpaw's mentor. Mallowlily became Brownpaw's and Creampelt became Poppypaw's. I only have one moon till I'm an apprintice or at least I hope.

"Come on, Hollowkit, let's play!" Jaykit meowed leaping on me. I pushed him off.

"No, Jaykit." I answered getting tighter into a ball. Jaykit snorted and walked out the den. I rolled my eyes and looked down at my half eaten mouse that i caught in the corner of the den. No one should know that I don't like fish but like mouse and birds i try to eat it whenever i can.

"Tabbypaw, stop!" called his littermate Gorsepaw. 

"Why, we never play?" He asked and i heard the grass crumble and i got up. I raced toward the enterance of the den.

"Leave him alone!" I yowled at Tabbypaw and let my claws slide out i dug them into the ground.

"What are you going to do about it murder!" Tabbypaw snickered at me. That triggered me. I leaped at the cat that was taller than me. 

"Hey!" He yowled as I pushed him over. I felt my fur be grabbed and I was placed down. I looked up at Wildleaves.

"What is wrong with you!" He yowled at Tabbypaw. I looked up at the tom and then at Stripepelt who was next to him. 

"I didn't start it!" Tabbypaw yowled back at Wildleaves. I looked at Gorsepaw who was staring at me. I felt my fur prickle in embarrement. He waved me over with his tail.

"Thanks for saving my tail back there." He said to me as we entered the medicine den. I looked down.

"Its no problem." I answered back. I sat down and watched him work with differnt leaves.

"What's for treating a scratch, no to stop bleeding." He whispered. He picked up a leaf. 
"Not that." He said to himself.

"Cobwebs." I told him. He looked at me. I felt my body heat up with embarrssemnet. He nodded like nothing and walked over.

"You going to be a medicine cat?" He asked and I shook him off.

"What?" I meowed and he walked back a bit.
"Sorry, no, my denstity is something different." H elooked at me like I was crazy. 

"Wait." He meowed and raced into the back, he came back out with a root.

"What's this?" He asked and i sniffed it.
"Budrock Root." I answered and he took a step back.

"No way!" He whispered and I stepped back. He ran up to me and rubbed his head against my face. I began to feel soemthing like weird. I rubbed my head against him. Then i walked out.  I looked at the stares around camp.

"She killed Roseleap." Said Bluebird to Brownpaw. Who nodded narrowing his eyes. 

This was going to be a long life.........
