Hollowstar's Gift

Chapter 5

I stood beside Gorsewhisker as Brackenpaw, Poppypaw, and Brownpaw got their warrior names. The clan cheered as Gingerstar raised her head.

"I present to you; Brackenash, Poppysnap, and Brownclaw." Yowled Gingerstar as the three cats stared out in the crowd.

"Brackenash, Poppysnap Brownclaw!" Yowled Willowear and Orangesnap first.

"Brackenash Poppysnap, Brownclaw." I yowled 

"Brackenash, Brownclaw, Poppysnap!" Yowled Honeystripe from the nursery.

"Brackenash!" Yowled Wildleaves.

I watched her glance shyly at Wildleaves. Who nodded and they stepped off the rock. I walked toward the apprintice den when Rainstorm came out.

"Hi Hollowpaw." He meowed. 

"Rainstorm." I meowed to him trying to get to my prey. He placed one paw in front of me. I looked up at him.

"Where are you going?" He growled. I swallowed some of my prey from earlier. I hope he can't smell my fear scent. I thought trying to walk passed him.

"Let's go for a walk." He meowed making me nervous.

"How about we don't." Meowed a voice behind me. I turned around and saw Gorsewhisker. I gasped and mouthed out Thank you.

"What are you going to do about it?" Growled Rainstorm. Gorsewhisker lifted his head.

"Tell you that she's not going." He growled and his claws slid out. Rainstorm growled.

"Don't mess with me medicine cat." Gorsewhisker smirked.

"Already did." Gorsewhisker meowed sliding his claws back in.  That must've triggered Rainstorm he leaped at Gorsewhisker. Who stepped to the side. 

"Hollowpaw run!" Ordered Gorsewisker and I nodded and raced off to the medicine den. I saw Birchsplash sitting besides his herbs.

"Oh Hollowpaw come we must talk." He meowed scooting over so I could sit. Gorsewhisker came in and nodded. Birchsplash nodded and Gorsewhsiker came over.

"What's going on?" I asked and Gorsehisker placed his tail on mine.

"Don't be frightned.'' Meowed Birchsplash. I nodded and my life began to change.
