I didn't really understand my feelings for Amir but every time I saw him talking and laughing with Sarah, it stung a bit. Just a tiny bit.
I'm glad that he overall stopped bothering me but weird feelings swirled around me when I see him sometimes. But I then snap back and think that me and Amir wouldn't work out anyways.
I shrugged and then walked to first period. The hallways were covered in Pink and red posters screaming to go to the Valentine's Day ball. I rolled my eyes. As if.
Does it look like I can date boys? I swear they are such a headache though. Although I might just go with Choji and the rest of the tutors I've met while helping him.
But maybe Choji is going to go with the girl his parents are pressuring him to marry. Poor him though, I'd hate that.
I walked into class and boom! Surprise, surprise guess who finally came back from Rome.
"Adam you annoying, annoying broccoli." I didn't know what cuss word to say so I said something that I hated. Broccoli.
I sat behind him in class and his seat has been empty for the longest time.
He laughed out loud. "Miss me?"
"Actually no. I have other friends too you know." I rolled my eyes. I actually didn't that is unless you count choji. I took off the backpack and got ready for the long and boring lecture that was about to begin.
He narrowed his eyes. "Well anyways, I will be going back soon."
My eyes widened. "Really? How come?" What about your education? I wanted to ask.
"Father's demanding business."
"Wow. Thats so cool that you get travel all over the world." I said that excitedly but Adam seemed unimpressed.
"It can be a hassle though. I've moved too much, I don't even have a place to call 'home'" He said with sad eyes and I couldn't even respond because the teacher walked in.
I quickly got out my pencil and started cramming down the notes because there was an exam soon.

Sameer:
I peered out to look at the crowd during lunch and surprisingly saw Adam in line next to Malak.
Wait.. Adam is back? I had thought that he had permanently moved to Rome.
Amir came up to me with a soda in his hand. "What are you staring at?" He asked as he took a sip. He followed my gaze and he dramatically spits out the sip he had just taken from the cold soda can.
He begins to cough and I try to help him but I knew no matter what, Amir was going to be livid.
"Why the hell is he back?" Amir said in annoyance.
"I don't know." I shrugged. "Maybe it was only a business trip."
Amir looked at me. "Business trip, my ass." He glared at Malak and Adam. He narrowed his eyes. "I really don't like that guy."
I laughed. "Amir you don't like anybody."
"That's true too."

MALAK POV:
Adam invited me to the ball but I told him I wasn't going. He understood my awkwardness at parties and he let it go. However choji gave me a huge headache about it. He kept on ranting about how Im a horrible person because if I don't go, he'll be stuck with his parent's choice of his date.
