A feeling of panic started to run through me.My mom comes up to me with a wide happy smile. I knew she was excited that I was asked for. She's always wanted me to have a better life than this.
So did I but now it's harder since I know Amir and caught feelings for him. Ive planned to tell my mom but always pushed it aside because I was nervous. I can't believe this is happening, what Am I going to say??
"Malak? Come out and see the family." She whispered and grabbed my hand to lead me to the living room. I had been crouched back against the hallway wall.
I steadily walk behind her with my eyes glued to the stained carpet we live above. I then sat carefully next to my mom and then kept my gaze on my fiddling fingers.
"Nice to meet you." I heard the young man say. I quickly look up only to grab glance of him. He had dark hair, sharp facial features and full lips. His eyes were dark since no color was staring back at me.
Not Like Amir.
I quickly racked my brain and tried to change my train of thought. "Oh she's so shy!" His, I'm guessing, mother said. She was a plump lady dressed in a pink maxi dress with a fancy black leather purse on her lap. She didn't wear a hijab and he rich gold locks fell effortlessly on her shoulders.
My mom laughed lightly. "She is. Surprisingly."
They all laughed after she said that and all I did was merely smile. I was hoping they take the hint and see how awkward I was. Maybe then they will drop me.
I had high hopes but it didn't seem this way because they then say they'll see me again when they come visit one more.
I panicked even more and my eyes darted across the room looking for a window to jump out from. My eyes quickly met with the handsome stranger and he just kept his eyes on me, watching carefully.
I quickly tore my gaze away because I felt like he was reading into me and invading my thoughts.

It's now one a.m and I can't fall asleep because I'm looking for a way to tell my mother the horrible news. What would she think of Amir? What if she thinks we've done bad things?! Or what If she forces me to marry the new guy because she won't accept Amir?
Omg! What about Amir's parents! They would probably freak if they find out he was interested in me.
I couldn't bare telling my mom and breaking her heart. She'll call me foolish and insensitive. Well that what I think.
I can't, no I WON'T tell Amir. I'll just ignore him until he realizes I'm not for him. But do I want to loose him to someone I don't even want?
I was torn, tired, annoyed, and highly distraught. I tossed and turned throughout the whole night and didn't get enough sleep.

"Woah!" Choji laughed. "You look like a drunk panda!" I glared at him. "Those bags are so real, they might carry my grocery!" He laughed again and I threw a French fry at him. It hit him in the forehead which made him shut up.
Me and Choji ate lunch together because luckily Amir didn't show up to school today.
"I stayed up too late yesterday." I groan and rub my eyes.
"What couldn't choose between all the boys!" He cracked up laughing but he had no idea his joke was my reality.
He saw my seriousness and quit laughing immediately. "Wait, you're serious."
