"Wait, hold your horses, our new neighbor is named Sean, he goes by Jack and has green hair?" Jessie asked. Chad had just left when you told her about the neighbor.

"Yeah, what about it?" You responded, putting Y/H/C into a high pony tail, and begining to unpack the stuff for your bedroom.

"What about it? You do realize that you were just talking to a pretty famous Youtuber, right?" She said pointedly, handing you the shirt that fell out of your box.

"Mhmmm, cool" You say, more focused on hanging your favorite poster than the words coming out of her mouth.

"I might ask him out!" She jokes, knowing you weren't really listening.

"NO! I saw him first I get dibs!" You say between laughs. This always felt normal,  you and Jessie joking together with out a care.

"You can't! Not until you break up with Chad." She changes the topic, "Seriously, this isn't ok anymore, he's a horrible person, he's cheated on you multiple times, he's even hurt you physically, this isn't ok, you're trapped in a toxic relationship, you need to stop this."

"I know, I know, I'm just.....afraid, what if he, you know, does that again?" You choke down tears.

"I won't let him, I swear" She says pulling you into a hug.

"Thanks, you're my best friend, you know that?" You say, gratitude basically seeping out of you.

"Oh getting sentimental, are we?" She lightens the mood.

"Oh shut up-!" You get cut off.

Three knocks ring through the apartment.

Sharing a scared look, you wipe away tears and head for the door together.

"Hey neighbor! How about that sugar?" Jack said in a happy tone, "Hey, you two look white as sheets, is everything alright."

"Yeah, everything's fine, now do you actually need sugar or are you trying to insult me?" You say raising an eyebrow.

"Yes!" He responds in a smug voice, hoping he confused you.

Laughing you say, "Come in, take a seat, stay a while!", opening the door wider for him to step through.

"Alright" He says, coming in side.

Staring at him slightly, you feel a suggestive jab in your side from Jessie's elbow. You return the jab and show Jack around the house.

He's cute! You think to yourself.

OK so, this story has been up for less than a day and I already have upward of 13 people reading, I never expected this to happen and I'm super greatful, especially to my first reader who has been giving me advice and encouragement (you know who you are)
So thanks to everyone who has read this, I can't wait to see how this part does!
