Part 1: The Brightest Star

Lucy's POV

It was just another day in the Heartfilia Kingdom, Mummy and I were playing in the garden by the Sakura tree, it was starting to get late and the sun was starting to set. It was the start of Autumn and the weather had changed quickly from warm to freezing! And while we were outside Daddy was working in his office, it must be difficult being King. 

I snuggled up to my mummy as the breeze of the wind sent shivers down my spine. "Mummy when is the sun coming back," I questioned as she got the blanket from beside her and wrapped it around us and placed my toys to the side.
"Hehe, the sun will be out tomorrow like any other day but the warmth won't be back for a while sweetheart, we have Winter next, then Spring and then Summer," She pointed towards a falling golden leaf, "It may be falling Lucy, but it's still beautiful. Autumn is my favourite season, do you know why?" She asked as we leaned back against the Sakura tree, tightening her warm embrace around me. "Because of the beautiful colours, the crunching of the leaves and the beautiful starry night skies."

Layla's POV

The sun had now set and the stars were breaking through the darkness along side the moon. Lucy looked up at me with her chocolatey eyes, "Mummy why do stars only come out at night?" She questioned as she looked up into the night sky covering the rest of her body in the blanket I had wrapped around us earlier.
"Stars are beautiful things, they only come out at night so they can protect you from the darkness of the night. They are you're guardians, something that will lead you in your darkest hours. If you look closely, you can see constellations. See," I said pointing up at the Leo constellation," there's Leo, Aries, Aquarius, Cancer, Pisces, Scorpio, Taurus, Virgo, Libra, Sagittarius, Gemini and Capricorn," I said as I looked down at Lucy looking at each constellation, amazement was plastered on her little face.
"Lucy I want you to remember something," she then looked at me with her large brown eyes," you see that bright star there," I pointed at the star as Lucy followed my hand.
"Yes mummy."
"Good, because I want you to remember that even if I'm not with you. I'll always be there for you, no matter where or when. When you look at that star always know that ok," I smiled as she nodded and cuddled up closer to me as she softly fell asleep.
"I love you Lucy, never forget that."
