Micam's POV
Their eyes were bright red, they had a cloak on that was so black, it looked like a void of nothing was standing there. There was dark grey mist that surrounded them and left a path wherever they went. The face of the being was unrecognizable, the only thing visible were their eyes, which shone very brightly.
My friends and I were stunned, the world around us was frozen, we couldn't escape, a ring of mist surrounded us. I was paralyzed with fear, my throat felt like it was shut and I couldn't speak.
"Who the hell are you?" Nathan asked, pushing me and Tommy behind him.
The being didn't speak for a moment, seeming in thought. Then, it let out a small whimper.
"Y-You can see me?" It said. Their voice was quiet and shaky, they sounded like a frightened child. "H-How....how is that p-possible?"
"You never answered my question," Nathan said, his voice booming. "Who are you?"
"Me?"
"No, the frickin' chimpanzee dancing behind you," The being jumped. "Yes you, you idiot."
"Nathan," Tommy said quietly. "Don't try to anger it. We don't want any trouble."
"Micam," The being said. "Y-You don't recognize me?"
I jumped at the mention of my name.
"N-No...." I said quietly.
"It's me," It said sadly. "Melody. You don't know who I am?"
I look down at the ground. Melody... that sounds too familiar...
"What the hell do you want?" Nathan asked.
"I want to see Micam." Melody answered, finding more confidence in her speech.
"Why?"
"Because"
"Why?"
"He's my brother."
And with that statement, Melody disappeared and world around them unfroze.

Brother...
I couldn't concentrate on my schoolwork for the rest of the day. The thought pounded at my head. I have a sister. Am I older? Or is she older? She clearly had abilities similar to mine, but she didn't seem human...at least, not completely.
"Micam!" Nathan shouted, running up next to me. "You okay?"
"Well, some shadow, demon thing just appeared, froze the world, and called me her brother," I said sarcastically. "I'm completely normal! I'm so freakin' dandy right now!"
Nathan rolled his eyes.
"Come over to my place." He said.
"Why?" I replied.
"You seem upset," He said. "You need a friend right now, so a friend you're gonna get!"
I finally agreed and went over to Nathan's house. It was much smaller than the Hignan's, Nathan's house was only one story with three bedroom, whereas the Hignan's had two stories with six bedrooms.
"What a day," Nathan said, sitting down on the couch. "Sit. Dude, you're my best friend, make yourself at home."
When I sat down next to Nathan, his mom walked into the house.
"Hello, Nathan~!" She beamed. "Oh, hello there, Micam! Long time no see!"
"Yes, ma'am." I said.
"You seem pretty down in the dumps, what's going on?"
"He failed a math test," Nathan added quickly. "Micam studied for two days."
"That sucks." Nathan's mom said. "I'll be out in the garden if you boys need me."
"Bye." Nathan and I said at the same time.
After she left, Nathan sat up and faced me.
"Talk." He said.
"About what?" I replied.
"You know what," He said, looking me in the eye. "Melody. Who is she?"
"I've never seen her in my life," I paused. "But her name sounds familiar."
"What about that mist stuff?"
"That's never happened before."
"Don't lie," Nathan said as he stood up. "Try to do it again."
"I told you, I-"
"Do it."
I stood up and moved far from Nathan. As I lifted my hand, the blue-grey mist surrounded it. But this feeling came over me. I felt...powerful. I looked Nathan in the eye. He was just standing there, defenseless. The perfect victim. More mist surrounded my hand. Then my vision went black.
Nathan's POV
"Micam..." I said. "What's going on?"
His eyes turned bright red, his canines extended past his lip, there was mist everywhere. He started to levitate, mist underneath him. His left hand aimed in my direction.
"Micam...!" I shouted as I dodged his shot.
"Quit moving." He said. That wasn't the Micam I know. His voice was booming and powerful. I was distracted as his next shot hit me in the arm and knocked me over.
"Micam, no!" I said as he loomed over me, his hand raised up and ready to strike.
His eyes went back to dark brown.
"Nathan?" He said, lowering his hand and looking at it. "Why are you on the floor?" But then, I could see it in his eyes, he realized what he did. Tears filled his eyes as he went back to normal and I got up.
"Wh-What have I done?!" He whimpered.
I went up to him and hugged him.
"It'll all be okay," I said, reassuring him. "We'll solve this."
A simple hug and a reassuring statement was all he needed to calm his nerves. We will get to the bottom of this. I can't stand to see him hurt like this.
