I spoke to James and he just sighed and said okay. I figured he doesn't want to come. He's super busy with work which means I'll probably be going on my own at least that's what I thought until I heard him say he'll help me pick out my dress. We went to a little dress shop on sixth street it had a cozy feeling to it. We walked in and I felt like a kid in a candy store. Dresses lined up everywhere.
I grinned and ran to the dark section of dresses. James just smiled as he sat down on a chair in front of the dressing room. The first dress was a navy blue mini skirt dress of course he said no. Then I tried on a light grey slim dress that fell to my knees and had black laced straps and came with black high heel boots. He looked at me in awe. I smiled. I loved this dress. He just studied me for a second. His eyes looked at all of me.
We both knew we liked this dress. We paid for it with the money Liam gave me. When James asked where I got the money I felt bad for telling him Liam gave it to me. He just looked at me and sighed and put his arms around me. He held me there for a few minutes in front of the stores customers. I felt slightly awkward yet flustered.
We walked around the shops for the majority of the afternoon. At one point there were street dancers and James pulled me with him to join them. I tried to refuse but he gave me puppy dog eyes and my heart tugged a little. We danced and it felt like happiness. He twirled me around him then pulled me into a hug as the music played.
We tipped the dancers and walked into a coffee shop. He was dying for a cup. I shrugged as he pulled me inside. He pulled out a chair for me at the table. I thought it was cute. He's a gentleman. He brought me a hot chocolate. He knew he wasn't going to take a chance with me not knowing if I liked coffee or not. I liked that. He was thinking ahead. He took a sip of his drink and noticed me looking at him. He leaned back in his chair and relaxed.
"What you looking for?" he smiled.
"I was just admiring you that's it nice try though." I laughed.
"Hey can't help it your beautiful. What guy wouldn't want you?" He grinned. "I know I do."
I blushed. We continued chatting until it was getting late. He drove me home so I could get ready. He didn't leave instead he came inside with me. I felt a little flustered. He shrugged "I'll turn around." I nodded. I started to get undressed constantly looking over my shoulder in case he peeked. It's just he didn't. He kept his word which was different from what he did with me that night.
I felt flustered as I couldn't stop looking at him and completely forgot I wasn't fully dressed yet. He turned around expecting me to be dressed and I felt like was about to pass out. His eyes widen and he just stared until I grabbed my clothes and ran to the bathroom. He heard him run after me to my bathroom but I closed and locked the door. He knocked and sighed.
"Are you okay Abigail?" he asked nervously.
I felt hot and dizzy. "Yes I'll be out in a minute."
"I'm sorry. Uh gosh Abby you don't have to hide and feel embarrassed I'm the one that screwed up."
I bit my lip. "We're both at fault." All I could do was remember the night we hooked up. "I'm going to get dressed and I'll be right out."
I just remembered what today was. Shit its valentine's day and I didn't even get him chocolates or bring it up with him at all. I was the one that made the mistake. Now I have to do something. He saw me again. What am I going to do? I feel embarrassed. I feel dizzy. I took a deep breath in and got dressed as calmly as possible. I unlocked the door and he stood there against the wall next to it. He frowned and I could feel the awkward tension between us. It was like a thunder storm. Right now all it is heavy downpour.
