Summer pov

" I think you should go and hope Ross doesn't say anything, but if he does it's not that big of a deal because they're gonna find out one way or another." He said. " I'll go then but I just hope Ross keeps his big mouth closed. " I said a little worried.

Time skip to cook out
Still Summer pov

I pull up to the cook out and walk to the door. Adam opens the door " Hey Summer!" Adam said leading me into his house " Oh I already told everyone this, but my good friend from out of state is stopping by today so try to make him feel included." He said excitedly." I'll try but he may not be able to handle my weirdness. " I said sarcastically.
Adam just laughed in response. I go grab a drink and sit down with Red,Max and Em
We joked around and had a good time. Then someone walked through the door. I immediately knew who it was. I gasped jumped behind Max " What's wrong Summer?" Max asked concerned. " My ex.....the one who used to hurt me." I said scared to death.
" He won't hurt you anymore it's ok." Max said calmly. " you don't know that..... he may not look like it but he's a psychopath." I said strengthening my grip on Max's arm.

Max Pov

" THATS HER EX!" I thought to myself. He was a foot taller than me. He was definitely stronger than me. He was wearing a black leather jacket with dark jeans. He looked like the person who would hurt a girl. I could tell Summer was really afraid of this guy. " His name is Eric" Summer said. I could feel her shaking hand. " Summer listen I will not let him hurt you ever again." I said putting my arm around her.

Summer pov

Eric was making his way around the room introducing himself to people. The closer he got the tighter Max's grip was on my shoulder. He got to me and realized who I was "Hey, Summer I missed you." He said sarcastically. " I didn't miss you." I said. "Oh, and who's this that has his arm around my girlfriend? " He asked in a rough tone " I'm Max Summer's boyfriend." Max said in serious tone. " We're gonna talk later babe." Eric said to me. Than Eric walked away and leaned on the kitchen counter. I pulled Max aside and thanked him. I knew only Eric could see us so I kissed max. Than max realized what I was trying to do " Wow you're evil, I like it." He said and kissed me more aggressively.Eric knew I would never kiss him voluntarily. I could see his face, red with anger, he clenched his fist. I went and sat back down on the couch. Max followed. Eric came up to me. " Can we talk for a moment." He whispered aggressively. He grabbed my arm and pulled me into the hallway. " Are you done playing your little games? You are coming home with me. " he said pinning me against the wall."I'm not yours Eric!" I said trying to break free of his grip. " Babe I know you missed me, you're gonna go tell Max that you are going home with your real boyfriend, and Summer you know that your parents kicked you out and you came to me with no place to go. " He said and kissed my neck. I finally broke free and ran to max " Max I-" I started " Summer stop playing games." Eric said and pulled me back into the hallway. I could hear max getting up from his seat. " Summer listen that's it were leaving." He said pulling me toward the back door. " Hey! Let her go! " Max yelled. It echoed through the house. No one heard because everyone was outside. " I'm not intimidated by someone I have to look down at."Eric said and pushed Max into the wall. Before I knew it there was a full on fight going on. All I could see was punches and blood. I knew it was not gonna be pretty. Max blacked out. Eric pulled me toward the front door away from Max. When we got to the doorway Adam came in " Hey bro where are you going ? " Adam said. Eric let go of my wrist and I ran down the hall to Max. " Max...Max wake up ....please." His eyes opened slowly. " Max we gotta go now." I said helping him up. I walked him through the back door. I brought him back to my apartment to bandage his wounds. Max limped over to my couch and sat down. I went and got bandages. Max took off his shirt. He had pretty solid abs. " That's not what I'm supposed to be thinking about right now!" I thought. I finished bandaging his wounds and told him to stay at my place for the night so I could make sure he doesn't sleep because he might have a concussion.
