Merida's POV: 200 years before

Clutching the frame of my bow in between my fingers I let loose another arrow. It glided through the air hitting the deer in front of me without a sound. It died instantly and fell to the ground with a thud hitting the crisp winter leaves. Food was becoming low and I had decided to stock up before most animals decided to go into hibernation.

Suddenly the wind became alive making me drop my bow. The animals scurried away into hiding and the leaves pickup and flew past me. The last of the gentle sun had disappeared and was now bring replaced by the most beautiful moon I had ever seen in my life. Like it was, was speaking to me. "Follow the wind" and that's it. Nothing more.

I listened for a moment longer and I didn't hear the voice again. The wind was now stronger tugging me, pulling at me to follow it little did I know what would happen.

I decided to think of it as a adventure . Jumping onto my horse Angus I rode of into the night with the wind by my side and as quickly as the wind had came it was gone leaving me in the middle of the deep dark woods. "Well Angus" I started while jumping down front him "I guess this is where my fate I-" the forest was bright, a little too bright. Whipping my head round while smacking myself in the face with my hair that's where I saw it. A willow, the willow of the wisp. Angus began to neigh, I knew he didn't like these and I stroked his mane to calm him down. "Shh" I pleaded and I began to shuffle closer. It disappeared and reappeared a few meters further. I ended up walking and walking until... Until I fell. Down and down into a deep pit of darkness and the only comfort was for me to close my eyes.
