The great hall

At the top of the long stone staircase was a pair of humongous golden doors. Both with equal amounts of intricate decoration that looked stunning. Professor McGonagall lead us into the great hall. I was speechless. Unlike Hermione who talked her way through saying all about what she knows. She was kind of mean though. Saying the roof isn't real! Who does she think she is?! I linked arms with Ashley and Austin walked behind us smiling like a 5 year old at chocolate.

Hundreds of eyes watching us walk down the centre of the great hall made me nervous. Especially when Austin accidentally stood on my cloak causing me to do a stylish trip. I noticed my brothers laughing at me with their Slytherin friends. Finally we stopped and the deputy headmistress explained how the sorting would work.

I was near last to be called but I still had Ashley on my arm and Austin behind me. I noticed that the hat barely touch Malfoy when he was put in Slytherin. Made me feel sick. That goody two shoes Hermione got put in Gryffindor along with Harry Potter. I knew that the idiot Malfoy was my age but not Harry James Potter!

"Ashley wright." The deputy headmistress said. Ashley squeezed my arm before going up to the uncomfortable looking stool. The sorting hat took a while deciding which house to put Ashley in. He eventually decided.
"Ravenclaw!"
A loud cheer from Ravenclaw's table sounded as she skipped over.
"Austin Goldman." The gay boy strolled to the stool and had the hat placed on his unique hair. The sorting hat said that his father would be proud of Slytherin but he better go with "Ravenclaw!" I clapped for him as I knew him and Ashley were together.
"Ronald Weasley." The little ginger boy sat nervously and awaited his fate. I saw lots of other gingers all sitting at the Gryffindor table with their fingers crossed. I guessed they were related. The sorting hat put him in Gryffindor and said two other names before I was finally called.

I stepped slowly up the the stool making a faint tapping noise with my little heels on my shiny black shoes. Austin said they were cute. I shuffled back on the stool and had the moving and talking hat placed on my head.
"Mmm a girl Green. Should you follow your twin brothers or your parents? Mmm. Ravenclaw!!!"
I happily jogged over to the Ravenclaw table and sat with my friends.
"Olly Walters"
My boyfriend stepped up to the stool with a hard face. His jawline more chiselled then when I last saw him, his body bigger, stronger. His eyes looked like they were filled with pain.
"Please, anything but Slytherin. I don't want to be like my family. I'm not like them. I'm smart and quiet. I keep myself to myself and I don't want to cause trouble." Olly pleaded to the hat.
"Ok I understand. Slytherin house would have gained a clever wizard you know. Better be Ravenclaw!" The hat said loudly
I was relived that Olly got into the same house as me and not Slytherin. I can't even imagine what they would do to him. Especially Malfoy.

We tucked into the feast, Olly holding my hand and talking to Austin. Somehow they got on very well which I didn't expect. Me and Ashley talked about how nervous we are and how amazing the food was. Two seats to my right was a sweet blond girl who looked like she was in her own world. I nee her name was Luna so I called her.
She snapped her head towards me and smiled. "Oh hello, do I know you?" She asked in a dreamy voice
"No but I remembered your name from the sorting. You looked lonely and I think you would make a good friend. Do you want to sit with us?" I asked politely. She nodded and thanked us for our kindness and sat next to Ashley. Austin hugged her and the three of us rolled our eyes.

The feast was over and the Ravenclaw prefect lead us to our common room. We stood in front of a beautiful painting of a sunset with a married couple embracing each other. It was so pretty. The prefect whistled a 3 note tune and the girl in the painted asked him a riddle.
"If I eat I will live but if I drink I will die. What am I?" She said in a very strong English accent
"Fire" answered the prefect.
The girl nodded and the door swung open. Me and Austin stood there wide eyed taking in the beautiful colours and shapes of the sofas, fire place and curtains. It felt like a dream.

We were told that the girls dormitories were on the right and the boys on the left. Our stuff was already up which was very useful. Me Ashley and Luna said goodnight to Austin and Olly. Olly kissed me on the forehead
"Goodnight beautiful " he smiled and walked away. He left me there blushing. My heart doing multiple flips. The girls looked at me funny. They were almost jealous which I found amusing. I picked out my bed, in between Ashley and Luna and turned out the light. I had a long day ahead of me so nothing could stop me from sleeping.
