Girl Meets Charlie

Today is the day I'm getting out of the hospital. I can't wait! I can't remember how long I've been in here but it's felt like forever.

"Ms Matthews, there is someone asking for you in the children's ward." A nurse told me and lead me to the children's ward.

When we got there a little girl with little injures splayed there on her bed colouring a dolphin picture.

"Hello thank you for saving me. My name is Charlie." A little girl told me.

"It's okay I didn't want to see a precious thing like you go to waste. My name is Riley." I replied.

"I got you some things to take home with you." She said whilst giving me a bag.

It has a homemade bracelet, a picture of her in a locket and a piece of paper which said thank you for saving my life.

"How old are you Charlie?" I asked her. When I first saw her I thought she was two years old because she looked so young. But now she looks a lot older then before.

"5 years old, Hoe old are you Riley?"

"I'm 18 but I'm going to be 19 soon."

We talked for a while then i went back to my room to sign the papers and get out of the hospital for good.

"Are you ready princess?" I tuned round to see Lucas lent against the door way.

"Yep. I'm a little nervous but I think it's  the first time I've been outside in a long time." He laughed at my comment.

I thought I could handle the world at a young age. However life was easier back then and I'm inure if I'm ready for the next stages in my life. Will I have piece of mind or will my life be like an avalanche.

"Before you go home is alright if I take you somewhere..." Lucas asked me.

"Yeah sure" I replied while turning on the radio to find Lucas had been listening to treat you better by Shawn Mendes.

"Lucas you don't seem like a Shawn Mendes type of guy" I told him.

"You don't seem like a guns and roses type of girl but you are." He said as he was driving.

We drove to my moms cafe, I thought it was a bit weird because it's usually closed by now.

"Lucas what's going on?" I asked him.

"Nothing Riles" he told me.

However because of my anxiety I couldn't stop thinking about it. Why would he take me to my moms restaurant when it's closed? My mom always shut it on Wednesdays.

We walked in to my mothers cafe which was pitch black but I heard bragging which wasn't Lucas'.

"Surprise!" People shouted as the light went on.

I looked around and saw all my friends from collage,Lucas's family, my family.

"Lucas you did this?" I asked him.

"If you like it then yes if you don't it was all Maya" I laughed at his comment.

"Lucas I love it." I told him whist hugging him. I could stay like this forever.
