Ch.43 Forget about you

Alex POV

I feel light hit my eye lids and I see Monica going through my stuff. 

"Hey," I say rubbing my eyes while sitting up.

She turns around and says,"Hey I didn't think you were awake,"she says walking over to the side of my bed.

"I wasn't. But when you turned on the light I woke up,"I say yawning and I get this shock of pain in my head which causes me to instinctively bring my hands up. 

"Sorry,"she sees me hold my head and asks,"are you okay?" I look at her close my eyes again. I feel something rub at my thighs harshly when I lay down and I look at myself only to find the stupid kitty costume is still on me.

"Wait!"I say realization kicking in,"Did he?"I begin to ask but she shakes her head no. 

"Oh thank god,"I say closing my eyes once more only to have the stupid material scratch at my skin once more. 

"Ugh,"I say reluctantly getting off my bed,"Im going to shower and get out of this stupid costume." I say beginning to walk towards my bathroom. 

"Hey,"I say turning around,"is anyone else here?"I ask my stomach fluttering at the thought of Ross staying here with me. 

"No every one left,"she responds plainly and I don't think she realizes how her respond changed my mood. 

"Well then,"I say going into the small bathroom. Why would he wait? Im nothing to him? I have to forget him because he obviously doesn't like me. I walk out of the bathroom and get my phone. 

"Who are you calling?"Monica asks curiously. 

*Hello?* Jake answers on the other end. 

"Jake,"I say,"how about we go on that lunch you offered me about a week ago?"I ask him. I feel bad for kinda using him as rebound but I have to forget. 

*I would love that* he says and I can tell he's smiling. 

"Great,"I say with a smile of my own,"meet me at city walk at 12:00."

*See you there* he says and hangs up. 

"What about-,"Monica begins but I cut her off.

"I have a date to get ready for,"I say walking into the bathroom and checking the time. 9:49 it reads ,I have time.

1 hour and 30 minutes later I stare at my reflection in the mirror. Theres a nock at the door and I say,"Come in."

"Alex,"Monica says peeking her head in while taking in my appearance (www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=10439...). 

"Don't drool,"I say playfully. She shakes her head and walked completely in the room and sits down on my bed. 

"No but the person in the living room will,"she says. 

"What?"I say walking out of the room while scrolling through Instagram. 

"I though I told you that we should meet up there,"I say finally looking up from my phone. I freeze when I see Ross standing right in front of me. He gives me a one over and my stomach flutters. 

"You,"he clears his throat,"you look great,"he finally manages. 

"Thank you,"I say grabbing my car keys. 

"Oh are you going somewhere?"he asks. 

"No,"I say while looking for a matching phone case. 

"I dressed up to stay home and watch movies,"I say once I found the right case. My voice full of sarcasm. Man I must really be mad at him but then again can I blame him?

"Are you okay?"he asks confusion all over his face.

I take in a deep breath and decide to tell him now before I change my mind,"Why did you leave me last night?" 

"I didn't know-"he begins.

"You didn't know what that I wanted you to stay? Of course I wanted you to stay what would make you think that?"I ask completely outraged that he still doesn't know I like him.

"The fact you practically kicked me out,"he states in a matter of fact tone.

"No i didn't!" 

"Yes you did,"he responds raising his voice a little but not higher than mine. 

"Ross I was out of it! I didn't know what I was saying! And if you would have been here I wouldn't be going on a date so you know what never mind Im not mad,"I say heading for the door. 

"Why are you doing this?" he asks holding on tightly to my arm.

"Let go,"I say looking at him straight in the eye. He let go and sighed. 

"Im doing this because I need to forget about you,"I state slamming the door shut behind me.
