"Oh nothing brother, she just happened to walk in on me eating someone. And as you know I can get kind of ... messy." Ludwig lies.

"Is that true?" He asks me, looking deep into my eyes almost like looking into my soul.

Not wanting Ludwig to hurt or attack me I agree with him. "Y-yes, that's true." I let out a sigh. "It really frightened me with all the blood and stuff. I just don't like that and I was scared so I run off." I looked at John and then back down hoping he sees that I am lying. I want to tell him but not if Ludwig is around.

He wraps his arms around me and I feel my body relax. I let out a sigh and hug him back.

It seems like in his arms is the only safe place for me to be and I don't want to leave that safety. I close my eyes and breathe in his scent while he does the same before he places a kiss on my head.

"I'm glad that you are alright but I am sorry, I guess I have to go again. I have a meeting in a bit and you really can't be around-"

"It's alright, John." I cut him off and offer him a smile. Even if I hoped that he might take me with him, I kind of knew he wasn't going to.

"I will call you later, alright?"

"Yeah." I whisper and nod in agreement. Within a blink of an eye John is gone again and my heart sinks.

"So?" Ludwig says. "You seem to want to stay here?" He states while wriggling with his eyebrows.

"In your dreams." I laugh out.

"Then why did you lie to him?"

"Because I want to know." I reply. In return I get a questioning expression from him so I continue. "You didn't tell me what you've done to beg for my forgiveness."

He sighs before coming closer again. "So you really want to know?"

Noooo, I just said that without any reason, duh.

Idiot.

Can I just kill him already.

Not yet, just wait a few more minutes.

"No, I just said that for no reason."

"Alright then. Do you want the long or the short version?"

"The short, I don't want to spend to much time with you." I answer and damn his face is priceless.

"Uhm, well. After you turned into a vampire and met you for the first time, I fell in love with you. But like now you didn't return those feelings.

You liked me and we got closer to each other but you would never choose me over my brother.

So... In order to get you, my brother would have to ... disappear."

He tried to kill his brother?!
