[Episode 2] From Strangers To Friends
It didn’t take long for the six newcomers to become rather friendly with the group from Card Capital, and, soon they had explained about what exactly Vanguard was in their world.
“So, what you’re saying... is that we’re from a tv show?” Aichi inquired, frowning slightly while Bridget nodded her head.
“Well, yeah, though, in our world it isn’t real, but, now I clearly see that this world does exist, though, almost as if in a different dimension,” She explained, before smiling happily. “I always wanted to be part of Vanguard, it seems much more interesting than Canada!”
“You know we’re basically in a different dimension of Japan, right?” Cyrus questioned, causing Bridget to roll her eyes.
“Whatever, if we were to go to Japan in our world, we wouldn’t have met these guys, right?” She retorted, and Cyrus shrugged slightly, nodding his head.
“We still probably could have met someone who plays Vanguard.”
“We play Vanguard, and so do a lot of people, so, that’s true, but, we wouldn’t have met people from the show.” She replied, pulling out her cards and shuffling through them.
Aichi noticed her doing this, and smiled lightly.
“Hey, want to play a game?” He requested, causing her to blink and look up at him, before smiling somewhat sheepishly.
“Oh, I’m really not that good, I only started playing a little while ago, it’d be boring for you to play against me.” She told him, but, Aichi shook his head.
“Don’t be silly, it’ll be fun. Come on.”
He walked over to one of the standing fight tables in the middle of the shop, and took out his Royal Paladin deck, Bridget watching him curiously before she shrugged and folled suit, pulling out her own Kagero deck and walking over to him.
Feeling a little anxious, as she knew she really had no chance against Aichi, she did her best to brush it off as she shuffled her deck, the others watching with interest.
She placed down her Vanguard before drawing five cards, and, making sure she had a grade one, two, and three, she put two back and did a redraw.
“Ready?” Aichi inquired, to which Bridget smiled and nodded her head.
“Stand up, my Vanguard!” They both spoke at the same time, flipping over their cards, Bridget revealling her Seal Dragon, Terrycloth.
Aichi went first, riding his Vanguard and placing a few units, doing what he usually did, as Bridget recognized from having watched him play on the show many times.
Once it was her turn, she smiled and looked down at her cards.
Use me, I’ll help you win!
She gasped lightly, the cards slipping out of her fingertips as her eyes widened in shock, before, blushing, she quickly ducked down and picked up the cards with shaking hands.
To be honest, she wasn’t sure if it was just her imagination, but, she could have sworn the cards had just spoken to her.
Aichi seemed confused as he watched her grab her cards, the others seemed a bit perplexed as well, and Kai was now watching more closely from where he was sitting beside Miwa.
Cyrus and Devin exchanged looks, they were a bit confused, as she didn’t usually act like this, she was clumsy, but, she didn’t usually drop cards.
“Sorry!” Bridget piped up, standing back up and smiling lightly, pretending as though nothing was happening.
Come on, use me!
