[Episode 4] A New Acquaintance

School had gotten boring very quickly, though, didn’t it always?

Bridget, or, as she was now supposed to be known as, Kaori, had stealthily slipped from her classes and was now aimlessly wandering the downtown streets, trying to figure out where she was going.

Reaching into her pocket, she pulled out her deck box, frowning slightly as she pulled out the top card, her ‘avatar’ card, Dragon Knight, Nehalem.

I’ll help you win, my Vanguard...

Shaking her head, she was about to replace the card in her deck box when she walked straight into someone, most likely due to the fact that she wasn’t paying attention to where she was walking, and she and whomever she walked into, were both knocked down.

“I’m terribly sorry!” She exclaimed, trying to grab her deck before she realized she was straddling whomever she had bumped into.

Face flushing, she quickly went to look up, though, only succeeded in bumping heads with the person she was sitting on top of.

While she was quite embarrassed, the other person seemed to find it funny.

“Why, I don’t believe I’ve ever met someone as clumsy as you’ve proven to be in the last few minutes.” He laughed, causing Bridget to blink.

She recognized that voice, she just couldn’t put a name or face to it.

Climbing off the man, he stood up, offering his hand to her, which, she hesitated for a moment before slowly taking it, allowing him to help her to her feet.

He was wearing a black cloak type jacket, with a hood that covered most of his head, and his eyes were blocked by a pair of dark sunglasses.

“Enjoying the view?” He teased slyly, causing her to blush once more.

“...n-no! I was just thinking... I know you from somewhere...” She frowned lightly, to which the young man shook his head.

“I don’t believe so, I mean, you don’t look familiar to me. What’s your name?” He questioned, and Bridget narrowed her eyes slightly.

“What’s yours?” She retorted, to which the man grinned lightly.

“I asked you first.”

“Fine. It’s Brid- I mean... I’m Kaori Yamazaki.” She introduced, barely catching her mistake and offering her hand to the man, though, he didn’t take it, as he was smiling as if he knew something, as he tapped his chin lightly in thought.

“Liar,” He stated simply. causing her to blink at him. “You thought I wouldn’t notice your little slip up there? I’m insulted you thought so little of my intelligence.”

She grimaced lightly, before a weird feeling came to her head, causing her to hold her palm to her temple in pain.

“Something wrong?” The man inquired, though, it seemed as if he already knew the answer to the question as Bridget shook her head and lowered her hand.

“No. Nothing’s wrong... and, fine, you were right about me lying. That’s not my real name, but, its what I’m supposed to be going by.” She admitted, and he smiled lightly, pleased by her answer.

“What’s your real name?” He pressed, causing her to sigh softly.

“Its... Bridget,” She told him, to which he smiled again. “But, please, call me Kaori. I should get used to answering to it.”

“Fine, Kaori, its a pleasure,” He greeted, this time, taking her hand and lowering his head to kiss it, to which she smirked lightly. “Something amusing you?”
