The first day of band camp, Melanie walked into the band hall with Danielle, surprised to see the number of people in the band.
"Jesus how many people are there?"
"Too many omg"
As soon as everyone sat in their assigned seat, the band directors began.
"Is anyone not here today?"
"Arthur isn't here but he'll be here in the next 10 minutes." said a small girl in the euphonium section.
"Okay, since pretty much everyone is here.."
*band doors slam open, heads turn*
In the doorway stands a tall, slender guy with short golden brown hair that curled at the end, no facial hair, beautiful green eyes that shine in the sunlight, and a nice, white, straight smile. Melanie was in love.
"Sorry I'm late"
"Be here 30 minutes earlier tomorrow"
"I'll try" *winks*
The beautiful guy walked across the band hall into the designated seat for the 1st chair trumpet player. He sat there quietly while the band directors gave the schedule for the day. Melanie couldn't help but to glance over to him every once in awhile to admire his sharp features and gorgeous jawline.
"Any questions? No, okay go outside and find your fundamental block dot."
As everyone got up to go outside, he just sat there. Melanie couldn't find herself to stand up, until eventually she got the ability to finally stand up and go find Danielle.
"MEL, HOW GORGEOUS IS ARTHUR?!?!"
It was now lunch break and Melanie was exhausted from all of the 8 to 5 and 16 to 5 steps, backwards and forwards.
"He's competition Dani, he's not even that cute."
She was lying, it was taking everything Melanie had not to fan girl with Dani about Arthur.
"Well if you don't want him, I do!"
At that time all of the upperclassmen color guardists came for Danielle and Melanie was left alone.
"Sorry Mel, they want me to practice with them."
"It's fine, I'll see you later."
Melanie decided to walk around the school to get a feel for it for when school started. Melanie went down a dark hallway to see a slender figure sitting on the ground with its lunch in its hand. She walked down to see if the person would help her find her classes that was on the schedule she got when she signed up for school.
"Excuse me can y..."
Melanie couldn't finish her sentence. She was in shock to find the handsome Arthur isolated by himself. He seemed that he was very social, but yet here he was, all alone in a dark hallway. He looked up at her with his bright eyes.
"Oh, um, can you, um, help me find these, um classes?"
"Sure." he replied with a nice smile.
Arthur took Melanie's schedule and skimmed through it.
"AP classes your freshman year? That's super cool!"
"Oh yeah, I have plans to become valedictorian."
"That's neat, I hope you achieve your goal."
His smile melted Melanie's heart into liquid gold.
After telling her there were signs in the hallways and that she just had to follow them, she left.
During sectionals, Mrs. Bentley got the high brasses, mellophones and trumpets to introduce themselves.
"My name is Josh and I like turtles."
"My name is Joycline and I'm also in choir."
Eventually they got to Arthur.
"Hello guys, my name is Arthur and I like photography."
Then Melanie.
"The name's Melanie and I can speak Korean fluently.
Everyone then asked Melanie to talk to them in Hangul ( the Korean language ) but she refused. Eventually band camp day 1 was over and so was the whole band camp, with no progress between Melanie and Arthur.
