Chapter 3
Louis’ POV
“Who’s that girl you’re always with, Louis?” They knew about Eleanor?
“Don’t worry about them. Keep walking. If you say something, they’ll know,” Harry whispered in my ear, sending the flashes of the cameras off again. I took a deep breath, gripping Harry’s hand tighter with my clammy hand before we walked back towards the car.
He opened the door for me, helping me in before going around to the other side and getting in and that’s when I let out a sigh of relief.
“You alright?” Harry asked. I nodded in response.
“Thank you,” I replied. He smiled at me before turning back to look at the street and turn on the car.
We sat in silence for a while before Harry opened his mouth to speak.
“Do you think we did enough?” he asked.
“For now, I hope so,” I replied. “We can’t really know though. Management is known to be unpredictable.”
“Hmmm,” He replied, humming in agreement just as my phone began ringing.
“Oh. Speak of the devil,” I said, seeing that it was management calling. I accepted the call before putting it on speaker so that Harry could hear it too.
“Hi boys. How did the date go?” Will asked.
“It was ok, I suppose,” Harry replied.
“That’s good. Just remember to always keep this up in public, ok?” Will said.
“Yes, sir,” I replied.
“Anyways, you boys have an interview in three days from now. In this interview you’re going to come out, ok?” he asked.
“Ok,” I replied, simply.
“Try to make it as obvious as possible, like sneak little glances at each other and stuff like that and then when they ask about who is single, look at each other shyly before coming out, got it? Try to make it as convincing as possible. That’s all,” Will explained before hanging up. I pocketed my phone before sighing and looking out the window away from Harry.
I hated this. I wanted to be coming out with Eleanor. Not Harry. I wanted to be seen as straight. Not gay.
“You ok there, Lou?” Harry asked.
“Why do you care? You hate me,” I snapped at him, a sudden change in my attitude. Harry sighed, agreeing with what I had said. We hated each other and yet we were pushed into this situation. Neither of us wanted this.
“Just take me home,” I said, quieter this time. The rest of the drive was in silence and when he got to my house, I got out of the car and slammed the door, not even wanting to say goodbye to him properly.
I walked into the house quietly, so as not to wake Eleanor up. I shrugged my jacket off and put it on one of the chairs in the dining room, emptying my pockets and putting my phone and wallet on the table. Then I slowly crept into the living room. The sight I saw, caused my face to break into a smile.
Eleanor had obviously been waiting for me and had fallen asleep on the couch. She was laying, peacefully with her head rested on the arm rest of the chair. Her lips were slightly turned up into a smile.
I went to the cupboard in our room and picked up a blanket and pillow, taking it over to her. I gently placed the pillow under her head, trying not to wake her up before laying the blanket on top of her then I headed back to the bedroom.
