Tiffany's POV

I felt my heavy eyelids slowly open as I tried to sit up. I winced as I felt a stinging pain on my stomach and a girl with red hair and headphones quickly lied me back down.
"Where am I?" I asked with a shaky breath, "And...and who are you?"
The girl gave a small smile and I noticed the people behind her. They were both guys, one who looked about two years older than the other. The older one had curly brown hair, was wearing a green striped hoodie with the letters 'CS' on it, and had orange pants. He wore wide rimmed glasses and his eyes were two different colors: purple and green. He was twiddling his thumbs and he had a nervous look on his face. I switched my gaze to the younger man. He had black hair that was short but spiked up. He wore a red sweatshirt, red headphones, and black pants. He was tapping his foot, probably from me. I recognized him.
"You...?" It came more as a question, "You were the one that saved me..." I directed the response to the man with the spiked hair.
"Well...I found you and brought you here... Ali was the one who fixed you," he replied scratching the back of his head.
"Thank you," I replied and he looked down. He was trying to hide a light blush but I could still see it. The girl who's name I believe is 'Ali' walked over to me.
"How are you feeling?" She asked. I could see the worry in her sky blue eyes.
"I think I'm ok," I said trying to sit up again. The red sweatshirt ran to my side as I winced again, but I still managed to sit upright.
"Chim? Can she stay with us?" Ali asked. I was shocked. They don't even know my background yet they trust me to be in their home? I mean, it's not like I have anywhere to go...
Chim shrugged.
"I don't see why not."
A smile made itself present on Ali's face and I swore I could see a small grin on the red sweatshirts face.
Ali stood up from her kneeling position besides me and introduced me to the small group.
"I'm Ali," she said, introducing herself then the others.
"This," she said pointing to the man with the different colored eyes, "Is Chimney Swift. But we call him Chim." That's an odd name...
"This is Red," she gestured to the man with the spikey hair.
"Hi..." I said. The two boys nodded in welcoming.
"Here," Red said, "I can show you to your room." He helped me stand and I leaned against him for stability. He led me down the hallway, lit dimly with red stone lamps, to a room at the end. Inside was a bed that looked queen sized, made from jungle wood and red wool. There were also some minor furniture pieces like chairs, two end tables, a desk. Red guided me to the bed where he helped me sit down.
"Is it okay that we share?" He asked, "Chim and Ali share a room because..." He trailed off and I gave a light smile of reassurance.
"It's okay." I replied and he smiled back. Red helped me lie down and every time I cringed, he would whisper an apology. When I finally got settled, he left the room to get changed.
"Are you sure you'll be ok?" He had asked before he left.
"I'll be fine. You won't be gone for that long," I replied. He gave me a worried look and left the room. I lied there, looking around the room. It was dim in the hallway because half of the lights had been off. In here the lights were bright but they didn't hurt my eyes. I thought of how close to death I had been and how grateful I should be to this man. A few minutes later, Red came back in the room wearing a tube top and shorts. He lied down on the opposite side after turning out the lights and let out a sigh.
"Thank you..." I whispered in the darkness. The only light in the room now was from the moon outside.
"I couldn't let you die," he replied. A silence fell between us.
"I'm sorry I didn't get there sooner..." He said, breaking the silence. I thought a bit before answering again.
"I'm lucky you got there at all. If it weren't for you, I would be dead right now. Don't apologize," I said and he sighed again.
"Okay. Well, I'll see you in the morning. Good night," he said finally.
"Good night."
