It startled me suddenly, in my dreamless sleep....
It woke me up, so harshly and reaped me complete....
I felt intensely in fear and in danger, knowing not why I felt this pain,
From this unnatural roar outside the window panes.
I sat up with a start, clutching the couch cushion, feeling its warmth which instantly....
Became cold and unnatural to me....
This bellowing, thunderous sound coming from out of the blue,
Striking my ears with a ominous boom!
No! There were no bolts of lightning in the sky, nor the claps and peals of Thunder
Near or close by,
This roar how it sounded, ruining my peace....
Instinctively I feared for my family's keep....
It dawned on me how horrid this feeling was real,
Not knowing why nor how to deal....
An unnatural roar woke me out of my slumber...
But there was not one sign that it had been thunder.
