The drawbridge was pulled up behind them. As they were led through the courtyard, Alex watched as the twins called their hellos to some of the knights. Their happy attitude lifted the atmosphere and even though some may have missed it, the overall mood brightened.

A knight stepped forward and gestured for Alex to hand over Nightmare's reins. She gave the knight a warning look but jumped down anyways. Giving Nightmare a pat and a reassuring smile, Alex followed the twins.

The trio was escorted to a grand door with a row of armed knights blocking the way. Henry lifted his sword enough to see the metal that was hidden by the sheath. Alex looked over at the sword curiously. Imprinted on the blade was a crescent moon in gold. A moon? Alex couldn't think of anything involving the land and knights that included a crescent moon. She would have to ask about that....

Alex was startled out of her thoughts by the large wooden door slowly creaking open. She straightened and raised her head proudly.

Henry leaned over to her and whispered, "Be careful. Try not to antagonize the others, they aren't very good at keeping their tempers."

"Don't worry, the only temper that should be feared is my own," Alex murmured back before continuing forwards.

She strode into the room and immediately found who she was looking for. A man, nearing his elderly years, stared back at her with deep brown eyes. He donned the same golden armour but his was decorated with emerald green swirls across his chest. His snowy hair was cropped short, giving him an intimidating look. He stood behind a round table with his knights sitting along the edge. King Orpheus.

Alex guessed that there was about 12 knights in the room, including Henry and Archer.

As she entered, every knight turned their heads and stared. King Orpheus lifted his head from the large map that was spread out on the table. Dark eyes glared at Alex.

"Henry, Archer," the king addressed them, narrowing his eyes, "why is there a woman standing before me?"

"Well, you see-" Archer started but I raised my hand, signalling him to stop. Archer glanced to his brother, but seeing his alarmed face, quickly turn to face the king.

Alex locked eyes with her king. The confusion was plainly written on his face. Inwardly smirking at the shocked faces of his knights, she spoke. "My king," she bowed, "allow me to introduce myself." She raised her head, "I am Alex, only child of the deceased Sir Demetrius. I have gone through rigorous training to be here today. I have come to join you in your battle to regain your kingdom."
