Harry can feel his fist digging into the side of his leg as he sits in the car. Louis is singing a Christmas song perfectly and the snow is beautifully spread across the town and Harry's nerves are the worst they've ever been. He's meeting Louis's family and they probably won't like him.

He knows it's a stupid thing to think but it plays on a loop in his mind. What if they think he's too ugly? Not accomplished? Awkward and pathetic and not good enough for the angel that sits next to him? He thinks those things so surely Louis' family will think it.

"You doing alright? You're very quiet," Louis breaks his spell and Harry snaps his head from looking outside the window and over to his glowing face. He catches the blue of Louis' eyes as he quickly looks from the road to him and he admires the slight worry in his brow. Every little movement and twitch of his body effortless and breathtaking.

"I'm a little nervous," Harry croaks out, his voice raspier than usual. He jumps slightly at the feeling of Louis' hand landing on top of his closed fist but relaxes as the man manages to unfold it and wrap their fingers together.

"I can understand that. I'm with you though and nothing will change that," Louis promises and Harry keeps looking at him. Looking at how soft his hair is, how his nose looks so small in his profile. Noticing his long lashes and slightly purses lips. Feeling his hand warm in his own.

"Okay," Harry murmurs, squeezing his fingers tighter around Louis'.

"The kids are going to freak when they see your cookies. There's like a hundred of them and they're covered in sugar. You're already winning," Louis smiles and Harry can feel his anxiety let up a little bit at the sound of his reassuring voice.

"That's why I did it. Can't hate the man that brings the cookies," Harry smiles back.

"And you're cute! It's a win all over!" Louis continues and Harry let's out a small snort and rests his head back on the seat. They're in a cute, middle class neighbourhood and Christmas lights twinkle in almost every window.

"This is nice," Harry comments. He remembers his friends in school living in areas like this and always wishing he did too.

"Yeah, it is," Louis agrees, his voice soft in past memories.

"I've always wanted to live somewhere like this," Harry says. He thinks back to Ricky's and how they had a yard and porch but the area was quiet. There were no families around; no life.

"We can someday. When we finally settle down and finish school," Louis answers immediately and Harry turns his eyes over to catch his blush.

"Yeah. When we decide to be adults," Harry nods, smiling at how the future flashes in his mind and it's all Louis, Louis, Louis.

"Until then we can just visit. This is my house," Louis says as he pulls into the driveway.

Harry looks at the brown house with the twinkling lights hanging from the roof. There's a large front window with a Christmas tree illuminated in it. An SUV sits next to Louis' car and a snowman is built in the front lawn. It looks like a family home. Somewhere safe and secure and full of love. It looks like somewhere Louis could be and that brings comfort to Harry.

"Louis!" A girl screeches and then there's 2 girls sprinting out the door in pyjamas and snow boots. Louis opens his door and gets out so he can scoop them up and Harry watches with adoration. This is Louis. This is what made Louis who he is. This house filled with care and love created people full of care and love and Harry wants that. He wants to create this in the future.
