Beep Beep Beep Beep

Ugh. School. Why can't school start at 10? or like never, because with all the sleep I have to get, and all the homework I have. Just kidding, I never have homework. I hurry it up and get it done so I don't have to deal with it later. I can't believe a couple of weeks have gone by! At least off season basketball practice is today. That is the only thing that I am looking forward to. Basketball is life! After a little bit of lying in bed thinking, I drag myself to the bathroom. Ugh. Boys. They always make big messes in the bathroom! Us girls has to clean up after them. Like seriously! YOU are the one that made the big ass mess in the first place, clean it up! Us girls are not maids, clean up your own mess!

"Emma, I am taking you to school. Mom and dad are hungover." Cody said lazily.

"Okay. Thanks for letting me know." This is going to be one long day.

I wonder how much easier would life be if I could drive. I know that thought came out of nowhere. But at least I can get to school, practice, a job, and home. That reminds me, my birthday is in 2 months! I am a December baby. While I was thinking about random things, I didn't realize that 20 minutes has gone by! I hurry up and throw leggings on, and one of my basketball hoodies over my sports bra, and on the way out the door, I slip on my Nike slip-ons, and grab all of my stuff. In the car, I put my hair in a messy bun, and text Cody that I am on my way to school. I don't know why I am texting him. He almost got us in trouble last night, and he annoys the hell out of me. But he is kind of my only friend since I am new here. I need to make some girl friends. I already have enough boys to hang out with. As we got closer to school, I forgot my phone charger!! Oh well, I guess I will try to stay off my phone during the day, and text my parents when my phone is about dead.

"Have a good day at school sis!" Ethan looks like he is sick.... I hope I don't look that bad.

"Shut up and get to school!" Sometimes I need a little boost, and he is there for it.

I walk away from my brothers car when I look up and see the most popular girls staring at me. Well, not at me but the car my brother is driving. Like okay, you can stop staring at him, he isn't your little toy. Plus, he is like what? 4 years older than you? That is so gross!!

"Hey!" Says the brunette girl, "my name is Ella!" She says in a peppy voice.

"I'm Emma!" Maybe she wants to be my friend!

"Who drove you to school today?" I guess I jinxed it...

"None of your concern!"

"Yes it is!!" Ella screeched, and everyone stopped and stared at us. Great. (Note the sarcasm).

"My brother doesn't date sluts!! Especially little kids!!" I say back and someone from the crowd yells something about the new girl, me, about having sass. Whatever. I walk away before getting into a fight. I don't think she wants me messing up her 'perfect' nails that costs more than my phone bill. I only by cheap nail polish, and feel bad when people by my expensive ones. That money spent on her pedicure could have been put in my savings account for college. That is probably be the most expensive thing I do, unless I become super rich. Than I'll by a Ford Raptor, a couple four-wheelers, and a lot of guns with ammo because who doesn't enjoy shooting targets or hunting? As I walk down to my locker, I feel eyes on me, and everyone whispering. I guess I get as much attention as she does. Everyone else is to scared to say no to what she says, so the just go along with her doing what she does. I still don't get why she has as many friends as she does. But I guess everyone deserves friends, you need someone that you can get through life with.

After a long day of quiz's and homework, I head into the coaches office.

"Can I help you?" A guy about 30 asks.

"I am here for basketball practice."

"You do realize that it is only boys basketball, we don't have girls!"

"I am okay with that, unless you aren't, and I bring my dad into this!" I warn back.

"Have a seat, but your standerds will be the same as everyone else."

"Duh!" Does he think that I am stupid? After a half hour of listening to him talk and weird stares from the boys, we finally are aloud to go change.

"Hey, my name is Noah!" This cute boy says to me.

"My name is Emma."

"Are you playing basketball, or are you a manager?" Noah asks.

"I am actually here to play b-ball since this school doesn't have a season for girls."

"That's cool! Yeah, most of the girls here are afraid to break a nail!"

"True!!! Well I am gunna go change! See you at the courts!"

"See you there too!!" He turned the other way and he has a butt! It is better than most girls here at the school.

I change into my grey class of 2019 t-shirt, put on spandex with my b-ball shorts over them, and I put on my basketball socks and basketball shoes. I send a quick text to my mom saying that practice gets over at 6:30. Only 2 and a half more hours to go. Our warm up was running two laps, which wasn't hard, and doing 100 crunches. I was the 3rd one to finish on crunches. The rest of the team felt like they took a long time. While I was waiting, I went and got a drink of water. On my way back, I saw some boys giving me dirty looks, while other smiled at my and checked me out. I am on your team-ish!! That is disgusting!! After doing ball handling, and we do a couple of scrimmage games. After a couple of games of me just standing there because none of the boys would pass me the ball, I was able to steal the ball. I ran down to the other side of the quart, and score 2 more points for my team. When I turned around, everyone was staring at me. I apparently beat the captain, which never happens. They are the fastest, and the best player on the team.

"That is what I am looking for!" Coach yells, "I want everyone to try like....."

"Emma" I say. Didn't I tell him my name before.

"I want everyone to try as hard as Emma!" Coach starts yelling again, "She is the only one besides Noah that has put a lot of effort in!! I can tell you now that she is going to be on the team if she keeps this up! Girl or not, she is going to lead our team to success!"

After the coaches little speech and another hour of practice, it was time to go home. I was so tired that I feel asleep in the car, and someone carried me to my bed. Most likely my brother because he is forced to do anything.
