16. Harvest Ball?

LANEY'S POV

It's been five months since that day. And may I say it's been the best three I've ever had in my life. I never knew I could have so much fun and happiness.

Harry has taken me on a few more dates. Most of them had him singing, but hey, who am I to complain? I've really gotten to know him over time. He's probably the nicest human being I've been with. There's nothing I would change about him.

On occasion, Alia and I would sneak out. Her parents always caught us, but we would still do it either way. The thrill is awesome. She even taught me how to hunt and taught me the bow. It's really been great to be friends with her. Even if I get in trouble because of her, hehe. I still love her.

But there's been on thing on my mind the entire three months. What's going on in my kingdom? Did Corey try to make peace with my kingdom or do they still hate each other? I wish I could know, but there is no way to do that.

Forgot to mention, Niall has also been staying with us. Yep, three months. But apparently he lives not too far, so he can stay as long as he wants, I guess.  Plus, I can tell how he gets around Alia. It's adorable when those two are in the same room together. Heck, even more since they're under the same roof! Me and my romantic side.

I'm in Alia's room waiting for her to come back from her lunch from Niall. Those two became close, and fast. Anyway, I was just reading one of her books when I hear a knock on the door. I leave the book upside down on the bed as I go to the door and open it.  I see Harry standing there with a rose in his hands. Oh yeah, he often brings me flowers too. It's very sweet.

"My parents want us to come to the throne room. They want to talk to us."

"About what?"

"Not sure. I think it's about the Harvest Ball next week. They like to make a big deal out of it every year."

"Well come on. I don't want to keep them waiting. And thanks for the rose."  I give him a peck on his cheek, and go out the rose in a vase. There's a whole bunch of flowers in it from over time. Then I go with him closing the door behind me.

When we get to throw throne room, I see Alia there with Niall besides her. I didn't know they came back already.

"Your majesties." I say and bow down quickly. Same for Alia and the guys.

"I think we all know why I called you all here right now."  The queen says.

"Madame, I'm not sure I quite understand. I really don't know why you did."

"Well I guess I should just say it. I'm sure you know that the Harvest Ball is coming up. But I want to talk to Niall and you Diana first. I'll talk you both in a little bit." She says to us and telling Harry and Alia. They leave the room which leaves Niall and me there. I'm front of their parents.

"I know this going to be really direct. But I want one of my children to make an announcement.  Now, it doesn't matter who it is, it just has to be one of them. I know what the announcement will be, but I need to know who will do it."

I look at Niall with a confused and worried look. He looks at me the same. It takes a few moments before the queen speaks again.

"So who will go along with it? I need to know now. Then I will tell Alia and Harry what I have in mind. I will not tell you both as its supposed to be a surprise for both one of you and the kingdom."

Once again, Niall and I look at each other. I turn my head and sigh quietly. I just know this is going to shock me in the future.

"I'll do it."

"Excellent! Now go and I will tell my children." She gives us a wave signaling to go We just head off and I go back to the room and keep reading the book. I swear I wish life was as easy as it seems to be in books.

COREY'S POV

It's been five months. Five long months since I've seen Laney. I have tried to go back to the Styles kingdom, but my duties wouldn't let me. And my sister, Trina, was too lazy to help me. In addition to that, my parents keep on pressuring me to find a girl soon and the Harvest Ball is soon. How on Earth can I find a girl when she's only a distance away. But with someone else. Lord how I wished she would've come with me.

I even did what I said. I tried to get her father to agree to a compact, but he would not say yes. Maybe I should have told him that I knew where his daughter was? Would he even trust me? Oh lord, why does this have to be so complicated?

I don't know why, but have fallen for her. And I've fell for her hard

Holo everyone. I know that I haven't updated lately and I am very sorry.  I have been staying for practice for my competitions every Monday thru Thursday. Then I have my aunt getting married in December and I have to help her.

Anyway, how was chapter 16? I didn't really like this chapter, but I think I consider it like a filler for the next one. It's shorter than my other chapters, but I hope you all like it.
