Of Roses And Rebellion[RSS 2] {Hiatus}

Chapter Five

"Rose, I don't know..."

"Of come on Ruby, you'll do great!" Rose grins brightly.

"It's just that... I'm still a little uncomfortable with fusion, y'know?" Rose sighs.

"Fine then. Um... Ivory, would you like to fuse with someone?" Ivory perks up.

"Huh? Uh... sure..." Rose grabs her by the hand and spins her, a bright light shining.

"Woah..." A very pale pink gem stands before us. Her hair is long and curls at the end, and her sleek white layered skirt is bright.

"You're beautiful..." I say, looking up at the gem. She's even taller than Rainbow Quartz.

"Hmm... an Ivory... and a Rise Quartz... it can only logically make me a Morganite." The gem says, smiling down at us. It's only now that I notice something odd.

"You have four arms." She holds up all four.

"It would appear I do."

Pearl opens her mouth to say something, but the transmission detector signals, cutting her off. Morganite splits, sending Ivory flying across the room towards the detector. She intercepts the transmission, playing it for us to see.

"Jadeite! We were due to receive a Sapphire yesterday, yet she has not arrived! What is the meaning of this?"

"What? That's impossible! I delivered her myself, she was taken by a Rose Quartz and a Ruby!" Jadeite insists.

"That's absurd! We shouldn't have had either of those gems in that sector!"

"They're on to us!" Rose says, turning off the transmission. "There's no time to lose. We need to leave."

"Leave? What do you mean by leave?"

"It's phase two of the mission plan." Amber states.

"What? Rose! You promised you'd start telling me everything!" Rose ignores me.

"Amber, you and Aquamarine start prepping the equipment. Make sure we have everything necessary. Pearl, you start removing every trace of our presence."

"Rose!"

"I'll review the plans."

"Rose Quartz!" Rose turns around.

"Ruby. I know you're mad, and I understand how it feels to be left out of plans. But you have to trust that this is for your own good. Now go get Sapphire, we're leaving." I sigh, but rush to get Sapphire anyway.

"We're leaving."

"Are you finally returning me to the hands of the Diamond Authority?" Sapphire asks.

"Yeah, something like that." I grab her hand and practically drag her down the stairs.

"Ruby! We have to leave, like, now!" Ivory yells. I nod and drag Sapphire over to where everyone's grouped up. Amber lifts a tile panel off of the floor to reveal a tunnel running underground.

"When was this done? We've been here for a month!" I ask.

"Hey. We work fast while you complain about your girlfriend." Ivory says, dropping down with her bag. "Let's get going!" Rose and Pearl follow, then Sapphire and I, and finally, Amber and Aquamarine. Amber fits the panel back into place, covering us in darkness.

Pearl uses her gem as a flashlight, and we can barely see in the dingy cave.

We run about one hundred and fifty feet down the tunnel, when suddenly a small blast goes off behind us, completely blocking the tunnel.

"We're good to go." Aquamarine ensures. We travel another one hundred feet or so and another one goes off.

"Is all that really necessary Rose?" I ask.

"Unless you want to be found." Eventually we reach the end, and climb through into the forest.

Amber and Aquamarine push a large Boulder on top of the exit, completely hiding it.

"This situation isn't ideal, as we no longer have access to private transmissions, but I have enough equipment to pick up public broadcasts from Homeworld." Ivory says. Rose nods.

"We'll need to split up to acomplish everything we need to without getting caught. But we need to change our plans a bit. Ivory, I know you have more experience in the field, but the less gems that go with Ruby and Sapphire the better. You can be trusted to protect them. So you'll have to take Amber and Aquamarine's assignment. They'll travel with Pearl and I."

"What? You can't do this to me Rose! We had plans-"

"I'm afraid this isn't about he plans anymore." Rose and the others jumped and were gone.

"No..."
