                                              My name is Skyler but everyone back home calls me Skye.
                          Ah home, I wish I was still there but no, I'm not. I'm here in Australia because of my dads work, how wonderful. Don't get me wrong i love to travel and see the world but I'm just not so very keen on being the "new girl" in school and making new friends all over again. I'm just to awkward for that type of stuff you know!
                          You probably want to know a little more about me so....I have long wavy black hair, green eyes and I'm quite tall. I'm also the only child which explains why I'm so bad at socializing.

                          Today is the dreaded day, the first day at my new school. My mother drops me off and I have no idea what will happen today. 
                          The principal takes me to my first class and introduces me to the class and teacher, telling them that I'm new and from South Africa. The principal leaves and Mr. Marx tells me to go take a seat. There were two open seats, one next to a girl that looks like a model and the other one is next to a blond boy. I walked towards the seat next to the girl but before I could take a seat she told me "sorry no foreigners allowed". 
                          Talk about a warm welcoming.
                          "I know it's the beginning of a new year and you have a lot of catching up to do with your friends, so I decided to give you a group assignment, however I will be choosing who is partnered with who", Mr Marx said while handing out the papers. He then reads out the names of the people who are going to work together. 
                          Please pair me up with someone nice I begged in my mind and then he said "Slyler and Luke", who the hell is Luke? I hope he isn't a freak.
                          "Hi I'm Luke, you must be Skyler?" The blond guy next to me said, interrupting my thoughts. I nearly forgot how to breath! He has the face of an angel. "Hey, yeah I'm Skyler but please call me Skye" I greeted him. 
                          "So we have to work together on this assignment, when do you want to start?" he asked. "Anytime that suits you would be fine, I don't have any plans" I replayed just before the bell rang and we have to go to the next class. 
                          Oh no I don't know where my next class is, I'm panicking and Luke must have seen the panic in my eyes because he asks me what's wrong.
"Uhm, can you please tell me where the music class is?" I asked embarrassed. "You have music!? I also have music right now, we can walk together" Luke offered with an award winning smile.
                          "So you're from South Africa that's....nice" Luke tries to make conversation while we walk. "Yip it is nice and you will be shocked to know that we don't actually live in the jungle with pet lions" I said knowing all about the stereotypes that people have. He just laughs and fakes shock.
                          "So what type of music do you listen to, non jungle girl?" Luke teases. "Please don't judge my taste in music like everyone always does?" I pleaded. "Why would I do that?" "Okay, well I like rock music like Mayday Parade, All Time Low, Sleeping With Sirens and that type of bands. But I also like One Direction and the music in the top charts you know." I answered, waiting for the part where he asks why I like that type of music and that it's horrible. 
"Really!? I also love their music, All Time Low is like my favorite band!" Luke replies with a huge smile, shocking me.
                          Before I can reply some random girl comes out of nowhere and attacks Luke with a hug exclaiming how much she missed him. 
                          Yuck!
                          I just stood there until she let him go. "Skyler I would like to introduce you to my girlfriend, Anastasia. Babe, this is Skyler she is a new student here and she's all the way from South Africa" Luke introduces us. "Hi it's so nice to meet you!" She said with a smile, while taking hold of Luke's hand.
                          Why do i all of a sudden feel a little down? It can't be the fact that i just found out that Luke has a girlfriend i mean we only just met and I've only just started at this school, I don't even know where I'm going to sit at lunchtime. Nope it can't be it it's probably just the shy part of me taking over besides Anastasia seems like a really nice person.

                          That was the first chapter of the first story I'm writing on here so I hope you don't hate it :) 
The story will get more interesting in time, and feel free to leave comments
