Chapter One – Hatred towards boredom

The warmth of the sun burns my soft ivory skin, as I sit patiently on the bleachers, once again stuck at another one of my brothers boring and pathetic football games. My hatred towards boredom sores within me, my feet twitching with the urge to move. Every Friday night, every single god damn Friday night I'm stuck at these games. Mum and Dad are always on luxurious business trips god knows where, meaning I have to be under the evil eye of my brother constantly.

According to him, that even includes football games. Like seriously Aaron, are you that stupid? How can you watch me like a hawk if you are running up and down a football field like a lap dog edging for attention? I roll my eyes and focus my attention back onto the football game. I honestly don't have a clue what's going on, I mostly spend my time staring at all the cute boys in their tight shorts. My eyes flicker to Nate, and my arousal is quickly demolished, oh how I dislike that boy. He's Aarons best friend of 12 years, and pretty much hasn't left our home since.

He is very much like Aaron, brown hair, blue eyes, defined muscular body, and tall, except, even more of a jerk, if that's even possible. Aaron and Nate seem to have this idea in their heads at the moment that they are the two top dogs of the school, because last weekend they had held 'apparently' the best 18th joined party ever. In reality to someone like myself, the idea of a whole bunch of drunken teens and half naked women does not really excite me. I'm more of the type that gets excited by math algorithms and chemistry formulas. Yeah, sounds nerdy. Most people would hate being called a nerd, geek or loner, but I'm all three and couldn't care less, I'm happy and that's all that matters. High school doesn't last forever anyway.

Our school team now holds the ball, and are running down to the other end of the field. The ball gets swiftly passed to Aaron, who then makes direct eye contact with Nate. He gives a nod, and Aaron passes the ball to Nate who runs past the opposition players and makes a touchdown. Everyone jumps up and down in excitement. The siren blows, signaling the end of the game, the boys win by miles. Nate does his normal parade walk around the field. I seriously feel like walking down to him and giving him a big smack across the face, like "Nate no one gives a shit", but I keep calm and roll my eyes.

He passes me and gives me his signature smirk, and looks me up and down. I immediately feel self-conscious and begin to make sure my uniform is in proper manner. As always my uniform is presented perfectly, yet his eyes over me make me feel weird and not good with myself. I look around, feeling awkward, never knowing what to do in these situations. Everyone's cheering, celebrating around me, yet I feel so alone, so I end up just standing there by myself. People smile at me, so I smile back.

I decide to pack up my books beside me and make my way to Aarons car. The slight breeze is crisp against my skin as I walk along the footpath. My headphones are in and Fleetwood mac blasts through them. I walk with a skip to my step enjoying the sweet sound of Stevie Nicks.

I check my phone to see a new message from Jess. Bless her soul, she's so cute.

I'll see you at 8! xo

She's just like me except loads prettier, and skinner and just everything about her is better than me.

"Where have you been Lily?" Aaron asks annoyed standing beside his jeep. I stare at him in annoyance, like come on I'm never late to the car, in fact I'm always their way before him

"Yeah where have you been?" Nate asks, popping his head out the window.

I ignore them both and hope in the passenger seat, I guess Nate was sleeping over too. But why am I surprised. This happens on a regular basis.
