It was four days until Christmas and Ally was supposed to be with her Dad. Jc was supposed to go back to Texas to be with his family, and Kian was supposed to go to wherever his family is. But that most likely wasn't going to happen this year. Nothing was going to be the same after this. Nothing.

Although it was about noon, Jc was still asleep. But I guess the world didn't know that since his phone wouldn't shut up. I don't understand how a human could actually sleep through that. It was nonstop. Bee-doop! Bee-doop! Bee-doop! Ugh! It was starting to give me a headache. I crawled out of my warm, comfortable position on the bed and walked around it to silence his phone. Just as I was about to, his phone went off once more. Now, before I say anything else, I wasn't snooping. I'm not a snooper. I don't snoop. I'm not normally superstitious either, but this seriously caught my attention. It was a text. But not just any random text. It was a text from someone named Corey asking if they finished the job. Right after, another text came up.

Kian: Not quite. We'll be done soon.

My eyes widened and my heart pounded a million miles per second. I began backing away. What could they have been talking about? Why was Kian texting Jc? He said that he hasn't gotten a text from Kian since him and Ally disappeared. I fell backwards making a loud crashing noise. I saw Jc's fluffy hair wiggle slightly before I saw the rest of his face with his eyes open.

"Pazzy? What are you doing on the ground?" he asked, his tired voice so beautifully rough.

"Don't call me that." my voice shook.

"What do you mean? Are you okay?" he asked, tossing his feet over the bed and rubbing the sleep from his eyes.

"Stay away from me." I pointed at him, scooting back some more.

He checked his phone and his eyes widened when he saw his texts.

"Where's Ally?" I asked, gaining some strength back.

"Paz-"

"Don't call me that."

"Okay. Topaz, just hear me out. Okay? Just stand up, I'll explain everything." he said, his hands in the air and slowly standing up.

"Stay away from me! Sit back down!" I yelled, quickly getting up and turning around to look for the door.

"Topaz, I'm going to need you to trust me."

"What job are they talking about? Why is Kian texting you? Where's Ally?" I continued to ask.

"Topaz."

"No. Tell me right now or I'm calling the police." I threatened, reaching for my phone in my back pocket.

My eyes widened when I felt no phone and no back pocket, remembered that I was wearing one of Jc's shirts and no pants.

"No you won't. Because you have no phone and no reason to." he smiled, walking towards me.

"No reason to? You're kidding right? I saw the texts! Answer my questions!" I began yelling.

"If you would just calm down-"

"No, I won't! Stay back! Where is my best friend?" I said, putting my hand on the handle of the door.

"She's with Kian." he stated, but continued walking.

"W-where?" I stuttered, my vulnerability showing brightly.

"A perfectly safe place. I promise." he promised sincerely.

"Is it safe with Kian?" I asked, completely shocking myself with the question.

An soft chuckle escaped his lips as he looked me dead in the eye.

"I'll tell you, if you are willing to trust me." he smiled, his eyes peering into my terrified, hazel eyes.

"Start talking."
