“W-what?” Chaeri felt her cheeks heat up as her eyes landed on Jinyoung’s, he had a blank look on his face that made her confused,
Was this guy serious? Or did he just say those words to make fun of her?
“Let me rephrase that…WE are jealous. We don’t like seeing you with Jaeyoon or any other boys because we think they’ll take you away from us. We like you a lot, Chaeri. And maybe what Jackson did earlier was wrong or even childish” he said before sighing sadly “it might be unreasonable to you but it wasn't to us, because he was just acting out what we all feel while watching you about to be kissed by someone we don’t even know…”
Jinyoung’s lips slowly curved upward into a soft smile, his eyes glinting warmly against the moonlight, he leaned forward, Chaeri’s heart drummed faster than normal when he cupped her face moving closer until she could feel his warm breath on her skin, her heart stopped for a moment when he felt his soft lips on her forehead,
Chaeri couldn’t think straight at the moment, and she was still speechless even after his lips left her, she could only stare back at him as he looked at her warmly.
“We’re sorry for making you angry” He said as his thumb grazed her lower lip gently “… But your lips are precious, Chaeri. And we care for you so much just to let anyone take them. Please know that we didn’t mean for you to feel bad.”
Jinyoung observed her face for any reaction but he ended up sighing in disappointment when he didn’t even get a reply. He cracked a smiled as he ruffled her hair, maybe Chaeri just needed time to think.
“I’m going inside now. Don’t stay here for too long, okay? You’ll catch a cold if you do.”
Chaeri’s lips parted in awe as he stared at Jinyoung’s back watching him walk away until he went inside the house. She turned her head looking up at the starry sky, unconsciously flashing a smile as she grazed her lower lip with her fingers.
He reminded her of someone. Jinyoung was like the prince’s on the fairy tale’s her mother used to tell her and her sister on bedtime. Sweet…warm…and kind.
She sighed pulling the sleeves of the coat that warmed her, tomorrow… she’ll definitely make it up to them no matter what.
