He stared at his brother in disbelief, his eyes going dark as his gaze turned into a glare. He is outrageous, wanting nothing but to smack the older and kick him out of his house with the promise of him never to come back nor set foot on his home ever again. In his mind, he had killed namjoon almost a million times in million different ways.Today is september first, his special day– his birthday. He had high hopes for this day as namjoon promised him a gift, a very special gift for his birthday. He recalls himself jumping up and down, impatient when his brother told him about this two days prior the special day. But seeing it now, all he wanted was to kick namjoon in the face and throw him down the bermuda triangle, strangle him to death or maybe feed him to the dogs.
"You don't like it?" Namjoon pouted, glancing at his gift briefly. "I think it's great, kookie. You could need a hand cleaning this dump excuse of a house."
"I can manage well on my own!" He scowled, glaring at his brother's gift. "Take it back, I don't want this." he scoffed, crossing his arms on his chest like the stubborn child that he is.
Namjoon sighed, "I'm sorry but he's non-refundable and I've spent tons of money on him. You have to accept him." he pleaded with his eyes. "Jungkook please, he's not that bad. He could do your laundry and be your own personal chef for free. Give him a chance."
"Why don't you take care of him yourself?" Jungkook hissed, "I couldn't even fend for myself, how the fuck do you expect me to raise a fucking hybrid?!"
"Would you keep it down?" Namjoon glared at him, "He might hear you and he's pretty sensitive. And as for your first question, I can't. I already have a hybrid, I can't have another one."
"Why the fuck not, hyung?"
"Will you stop with the profanities?" Namjoon hissed, causing the younger to roll his eyes and slumped back on the couch. "Besides the fact that the sanctuary won't allow more than one hybrid per human, seokjin won't allow it either. You know that cat, he only wants my attention all for himself." he stated that had jungkook groaning on his seat.
"I don't even know how to take care of...t-this." He pointed to the hybrid, a scowl on his face as the hybrid smiled, his eyes forming into fits of crescents.
"You'll get the hang of it." Namjoon retorted, reaching to take a sip of his tea. "Besides, you could maybe cut yourself some slack by not having to cook, clean and do your laundry while struggling to study and juggling three jobs."
"This birthday present is the worst." He mumbled, earning a smack on the head from his brother.
"It's not so bad," namjoon argued, standing up from his seat. "Anyways, seokjin and I still needs to go grocery shopping, I'll take you out to dinner tonight. I have to go. See you and happy birthday, baby bro." he leaned in to peck the younger on the forehead, earning a growl from the latter.
"So much for a happy birthday," he grumbles, receiving yet another smack from his older brother.
"Remember, he's sensitive. He could feel whatever you feel. I was told that he's very affectionate and loyal to his owner, so don't push him away if he gets all cuddly with you. You might hurt his feelings." Namjoon pointed out as Jungkook walked him to the door. "Oh, and one more thing. He's still young and is still a mutt, so feed him and bathe him. Take good care of him, alright?"
"Kay," jungkook shurgged, not really giving a fuck. "Is there something more?" he mocked interest, rolling his eyes as he sighed. Oh how he wishes this was just all a dream.
"Yeah," namjoon nodded, "Someday, along the months of december to february, will be the heat season for hybrids. He will be extremely weak then and I suggest you stay with him all through-out those months."
"Heat season?" He raised a brow.
Namjoon only smirked at him before waving his goodbyes and slamming the door straight in his face. He sighed, walking back to his living room, the small hybrid coming into view, a collar on his neck and a calm look on his face as he played with jungkook's teddy bear that was also a gift from namjoon for his birthday last year.
He eyed the hybrid skeptically, his browz arching up as he examined the small hybrid. Jungkook nodded in amusement. The dog doesn't look so bad at all. In fact he looked utterly adorable with his small eyes, chubby cheeks and his plump lips. His skin was milky white, and to say Jungkook wasn't jealous is a total understatement.
He rolled his eyes, crossing his arms across his chest and slumping down the couch with a thud, earning the hybrid's attention. He glared at him from across the room, annoyed and infuriated. The hybrid on the other hand, smiled. The dog now stopped playing with the teddy bear and instead focused his attention on his new owner, eyes twinkling in amusement much to Jungkook's dislike.
"What's your name, mutt?" he raised a brow, arms folded against his chest as he glares the dog down. The dog looked troubled for a second, the smile long vanished from his lips as he fumbled with something on his neck. Jungkook watched him fiddled with the collar on his neck, until he stood up and literally shoved his collar on to his face, sitting particularly on his crotch area.
He sat still, his cheeks turning into a dark shade of red as the dog continues to bounce excitedly on his lap, shoving him his collar which confused jungkook the most. The hybrid had on a cutesy smile playing on his lips, his eyes disappearing by his cheeks. He felt the dog snake it's hands on his nape, pulling him closer until they were chest to chest, the hybrid's breathing hot against the side of his neck.
Jungkook hastily shoved him away, immediately regretting it afterwards when the hybrid fell off his lap and into the cold concrete, a shimmer in his eyes and a blue pout painted on his glorious lips. Jungkook gulped, mentally smacking his head upon remembering namjoon's words earlier.
He's sensitive.
A tear escaped from the hybrid's eyes, sending a ton of panic on his system as he went and crouched over the dog, not knowing what to do. "I— ahh, yeah. D-don't cry." he fumbled, hesitant to just reach the hybrid's cheeks and wipe the tears away.
Instead the hybrid's sadness grew more and more, tears cascading down his eyes. But instead of hearing whimpers and sobs, the dog remained silent and just stared up at him, his eyes full of blues and evident sadness. So without much thought, jungkook did the only thing he knows when comforting a complete desolated soul.
He hugged him.
He could feel the hyrbid snake his arms on his waist, pulling him closer, his shirt now probably soaked with tears, but he didn't care. The only thing running through his mind as of now was ways to murder Kim Namjoon, his idiot excuse of a step brother. He pulled the dog closer to his chest, lifting the hyrbid up and was surprised of just how light he is.
He sighed.
All he wanted was something special for his birthday. He didn't sign up for any of these.
