instead of crashing namjoon and seokjin's anniversary dinner as planned, they found themselves standing before a familiar wooden oak door, frowns deep as they hear rustles and panic inside.

jungkook fidgeted, hesitant to reach out and ring the door bell. he held jimin's hand tighter, they two sharing a meaningful stare off. they could only frown, growing more confused as ever as the rustling of pans and things being dropped to the floor continued.

"what could possibly be happening?" jungkook muttered when what seemed like a vase was thrown to the ground. jimin on the other hand, moved closer to his side, probably scared shitless at whatever is going on inside.

finally, jungkook took courage and managed to knock a couple of times. soon, the rustling stopped, followed by an eerie silence which somehow doubled the heavy feeling the two are already feeling. "t-taehyung?" he croaks, pulling jimin behind him, afraid of what unfolds on the other side of the door. "it's me, jungkook. is everything okay?"

he was about to knock once more when a rustle of footsteps was heard, the noise growing nearer before the door bursted open, revealing a very pale and exhausted fox. "j-jungko—" he didn't get to finish his word as a scream found it's way to escape from his lips, alarming both jungkook and jimin.

"h-hey yoongi, are you okay?" his eyes grew wide, gasping as the said man slowly fell to the ground, groaning in pain. jungkook quickly let go of jimin and reached for the fox, his heart beating uncontrollably fast. his mind wandered to so many things, confusing him and leading him to nowhere but to panic.

yoongi curled into a ball, his face contorted like he is in so much pain. jungkook reached out to grab the fox by the arm, only to gasp for the second time. yoongi was burning up, almost as if he was fire itself. "y-yoongi, you have a fever!" and with that, he beckoned jimin to come closer and help him move yoongi from the floor to the bedroom.

his frown deepened when his eyes locked on the now trashed living room, with broken pieces of glass everywhere and a couple of nail scratches on the couch and even on the wall. it was a complete mess— almost as if it was raided. it was a disaster; catastrophic.

"what the hell happened here?" jungkook mewled as soon as they passed by the living room and into the bedroom. they placed the fox gently on the soft mattress, earning a sigh from yoongi as he relaxed on the bed, but the pain was still evident on his features as he frowned and once again curled into a ball, his lips quivering and his body shivering. "baby, taehyung keeps his medicines in the bathroom, can you go and get all those for me?" he told the dog, earning a small nod before the said man hurried to do what he was told.

"n-no~" he hears yoongi whine, before he felt a tug on his shirt. jungkook climed on the bed, straddling the poor fox to his chest before pulling out his phone and dialled his best friend's number, frustrated to the core. how the fuck could taehyung leave yoongi in this state? and where even is hoseok?

"j-jungkook~" he hears yoongi groan. he could only lean down and place a small peck atop the fox's forehead, hoping it might somehow ease his pain even just a little bit. "c-call taehyung." he hears him say.

"i'm on it, yoongi. don't wor—" but he got cut off when another scream broke out from the fox's lips, a few tears spilling in the corners of his eyes. the same time jimin erupted from the bathroom with a couple of medicine bottles in hand.

jungkook threw his head back in frustration when the call lead him to voicemail. "fucking pick up, tae." he muttered, gaze locked on jimin trying to make yoongi drink what seemed like a painkiller. yoongi averted his head in rejection, a scowl on his face as a couple more groans and whimpers escaped from his lips.

he could only pity the fox. he had never seen yoongi this small and weak. the fox just seemed so delicate and languid that somehow sent a million of worry to his chest. yoongi kept groaning in agony, and jimin being the naive pup that he is, could only watch and soothe his back in an attempt to calm the fox. "g-geuki.." he whimpers along with yoongi.

jungkook on the other hand, is so close to losing his shit. because still, taehyung wouldn't pick up his calls. in the end, he gave up and dialled namjoon's number instead, hoping his brother would come and help them solve the situation, only to be crestfallen when it also lead him to nothing but voicemail.

"g-geuki.." he felt jimin tugged his shirt. he glanced at his hybrid, who was also just as worried as he is. "j-jimin thinks....yoongi in heat," he hears him say lowly, but audible enough for jungkook to hear.

and with that said, jungkook froze on his spot, eyes wide and his mouth hang low. heat. the word rang through his head like a broken record. it felt like years hearing that certain word, that it almost felt foreign hearing it now. heat, he repeated in his mind. of course yoongi is in heat.

but how? it's barely even december. it's not yet heat season. he reached to wipe the beads of sweat forming in the corners of yoongi's head and cheeks, feeling useless and stupid. if yoongi is truly in heat then he'd have nothing to do with him. only taehyung can be of service to him at this very moment, or even hoseok, but not him nor jimin.

just then, they heard a loud bang from the living room, alerting them as jimin rushed to his side while jungkook pulled yoongi closer to his chest. but it soon faded into a relieved sigh when taehyung's tear stained cheeks came into view, his lips quivering as soon as his gaze landed on the groaning fox lying on the bed.

"we heard noises earlier, so we checked, and we found him like this." jungkook explained, moving away from the fox and reached out for his own hybrid. "y-yoongi, h-he was groaning in pain. i didn't know what to d—"

"h-he's in heat." taehyung confirmed, a couple of tears slipping past his eyes. "it's okay, daddy. i'm here. yoongi, i'm here, it's okay." he says, cupping the fox's cheeks and peppering him with kisses.

jungkook watched as yoongi relaxed at the contact, his shoulders slumping as he pulled taehyung by the nape and crashed their lips together. jungkook took his moment to leave, grabbing jimin by the wrist and lead him to the living room, not forgetting to lock the bedroom door.

he recalls the way yoongi groaned in so much pain earlier, and he couldn't help but wonder if jimin will feel the same when heat arrives. will it be as much torture as how yoongi felt earlier, or will it be different for him. the thought itself sent a huge pang of ache to his heart. he never liked the idea of jimin in such pain.

but what if jimin's heat occurs when he's away for work or when he's running important errands. the thought scared him to the core. he was so engrossed at the fact that his hybrid might experience the same pain that he didn't realise the hungry tears sipping from his eyes, and the deep pout painted against the dog's lips as he stared up at him.

only then was he brought back from his trance when he felt a hand on his cheeks, wiping the unconscious tears that had fallen. and only then did he realise how approximately close their faces just were, most especially their lips.

"j-jimin sad if geuki sad," he hears jimin mumble, his nose now red from all the cries. and jungkook couldn't help but smile at how adorable the hybrid just is. "j-jimin want geuki happy," jimin whispers, his voice low and sad.

jungkook looked away from jimin's lips and turns to lock eyes with him instead. and boy was it beautiful. in just an instant, he found himself drowning in jimin's eyes, all his worries lost and his anxiety gone. and suddenly it wasn't about heat nor pain anymore— suddenly, it was all about jimin; his jimin.
