After Harry and I talked for a few minutes, I looked at the time. It was already 12:15 in the afternoon. We had been talking for almost three hours; I couldn't believe it. When I showed Harry the time, he seemed surprised too.
"Do you think it's a good time to head out to lunch?" He asked.
"Yeah, sure." I agreed. I wasn't the least bit hungry. In fact, the medication Annie had given me has a tendency to make me nauseous, and the fact that I took it on an empty stomach definitely didn't help that. I guess I should force myself to eat food, then. After all, I was mainly just excited to go outside.
Harry texted Paul and within minutes he was in my room. Harry pulled his beanie back over his head and shook his thick jacket on. He looked at me after he zipped it up.
"It's freezing outside, do you have a coat?"
"Yeah, I do." I went into the drawer next to my bed and pulled out a thick fleece. After zipping it up, I wrapped a thick white scarf around my neck. I decided it would also be a good idea to wear a hat, not only to keep my head warm but also to ensure that my wig won't fall off. After some digging, I found my thick, knit pink hat. I secured over my head and we were ready to head out.
When Harry, Paul and I were in the elevator, I was having a hard time containing my excitement. I bounced lightly on the balls of my feet, suddenly feeling more energetic than I have in a long time. I couldn't wait to feel the cool breeze on my face, to smell the fresh winter air....
I heard a soft chuckle and I looked over at Harry, who was watching me with amused eyes. I felt myself blush a little bit and made a mental note to not completely freak out when we finally made it outside.
"You excited?" Harry asked with humor in his voice, and I knew that he already knew the answer to it. I just laughed and covered my face with my hands.
"I can't wait!" I said excitedly and his eyes glistened when he laughed.
"Before we go outside, I need to go over a few things," Paul began. "Harry, you know the drill, but I need to tell you this Payton." I stopped laughing and turned my attention to Harry's bodyguard.
"First of all, there is always a chance that the paparazzi will show up. They don't know that Harry is currently in the area, but you can never be sure." I nodded. "If they see you, be prepared to be bombarded with questions and pictures. I suggest keeping your head low and definitely not answering any of the questions they throw at you, most of which will be about dating." I laughed nervously and my heartbeat quickened. Every girl that Harry was seen in public with was always percieved to be his girlfriend. Paul continued.
"There is also a large chance that Harry will be spotted by fans. They can get pretty scary, so Harry knows to only take a few pictures, not being rude, and then lead you back into the car so they don't cause too much trouble. Payton, there's a chance that some of them may say mean things to you, but just brush it off and don't worry about it." Paul must have seen the expression in my face change a little bit, because he quickly followed his speech up by saying that this afternoon would certainly be enjoyable and everything will probably go as planned.
"Don't be nervous," Harry said to me seriously. "If things get messy, just stay close." He swung a long arm around my shoulders, and we stepped out of the elevator. As we made our way to the door, my excitement grew more and more and I began to walk quickly to the door ahead of Harry and Paul, ignoring the pain in my joints. I pushed the heavy door open and stepped into the outdoors. The first thing I felt was the cold, dry air on my face and hands. I deeply exhaled and smiled hugely when I saw my breath from the cold. I looked around excitedly and took in to scenery, even if it was just leaveless trees and a gray sky.
