Val walked over to one of the officers. "What's going on?" he asked. "A shot was fired in the house just now. We are trying to call the house but, no answer." replied the officer. "I hope my niece and her mother are okay. Inside the basment Morgan watch the footsteps going down each step. She then sees the rifle and looks up at Peter. Her heart felt relieved as she stood up. "It's over. Come now the police are outside." informed Peter as he took Angela into her arms. Morgan held onto his arm as they went up the stairs. They had reached the livingroom and Morgan could see Gary laying there. His eyes were open and blood gushed from his forehead. She hid her face against Peter's arm. He opened the door and all the cops put their weapons away. Morgan sees Val and jumps into his arms crying. "Oh my God, I'm so glad you are here." she weeped. Val hugged her tightly stroking her hair with his hand. "It's alright." Peter handed Angela over to the paramedics. He stood there smiling and waving at Angela as she was taken into the truck. "Hey Morgan, I'll be in the truck with Angela. I'll meet you at the hospital. Take my car." said Val. "Okay. Take care of my baby." "I will." Val got in and the truck left.

Morgan walked over to Peter who had just finished talking with the police. She smiled up at him as he returned the favor. "I want to thank you for helping me and my daughter. I don't know how I could ever repay you." she thanked taking his into hers. He let out a big sigh and shook his head. "You don't have to pay me anything. Knowing the two of you are safe is enough payment. Give your husband my hello." She gave Peter a hug and smiled. "Thank you, Peter." "Your welcome. Take care Morgan." With that he walked back over to his house.

Morgan headed to the hospital and went inside. She asked about her daughter and they lead her to Angela's room. She walked in to see her daughter in a cast. "Mommy!" she shouted with joy. Morgan wrapped her arms around her. "She broke her wrist so she will be in the cast for awhile." said Val. "Thank you so much. I see that you already wrote on it." "Yeah, it says 'Get well soon. Love Uncle Val.' " "How sweet? Any word on Robert." "Yes, he's in recovery from his surgery. You can go see him." replied Val. "Come on sweety let's go see daddy."

Morgan stepped into the room and saw Robert laying there. She walked up close to him and sat Angela on the bed beside his feet. She pulled a chair next to the bed and held his hand. Angela slowly crawled up next to him and ran her tiny fingers down his cheek. "Mommy is daddy okay?" she asked on the verge of tears. Robert opened his eyes and sees Angela near him. He smiles to himself as he seen her angelic face looking back at him. "Hello, my little princess." he whispered. Her face lite up as she planted kisses on his cheek. "Daddy! You okay." said Angela filled with excitement. "My beautiful angel, I love you so much. I'm so relieved that you are safe." Robert then takes a good look at her and notices the cuts and bruises. He see's her cast on her arm and looks over at Morgan. She looked the same minus the cast. "What happen to you two? Did Gary hurt you?" he asked. Morgan told him everything that had happened. Robert felt a weight was lifted off him. Now, he knows both of them are safe from harm. Angela told him about Peter the man who saved their lives. He knew that once he was out he was going to find him and thank him.

***I was going to update the other story but, I felt lazy. Now, that Gary is dead. Will their family finally be at peace? What do you think will happen next.
