"Everyone ready ?" I asked as the four boys piled into the living room with their own backpacks full of supplies and weapons, including Dan holding a still unconscious Ariel. Cassidy and Ri both had their own mini packs and Cass held a knife while Ri had a gun. "Sure but before we go, why does a six year old get the last gun instead of me ?!" Aaron asked, as I convinced myself not to scratch his eyes out. I'm a good person, I am a good person.

"Look Aaron I'm going to explain this one more time alright ? So listen up. Ri here learned how to use a gun when he was four okay so he knows how to aim it. You on the other hand don't even know how to load a gun. So please before I do something that would be considered regrettable lets drop it."

Aaron grumbled a 'fine' and the remaining three boys just nodded. "Good. And just to make it clear we are not stopping for anything on the way. So don't get lost, don't doddle, don't make a lot of sound and don't get killed we clear ?" I listed with a raised brow. "Wow, 'don't get killed' great advise I'll take it into consideration because, I mean, I was planning on dying some time around lunch." Lyndon muttered sarcastically his British accent making the sarcasm even more irritating, as I rolled my eyes. "Well, Lyn you can feel free to die whenever you feel like it, just know I'm not stopping to grieve and neither is anyone else."

"Feeling the love Lily, I'm really feeling the love." I responded with anotger eyeroll as we exited the rotting away house. "Stay close and stay silent." I ordered as we shuffled into the dense forest.

When we were more than half way to the camp Aaron decided that he really had to use the bathroom so, against my better judgement we stopped. And lets just say I was most definitely going to give him hell when we actually got to the camp. The moment we all managed to take off our bags and rest for a minute I knew there was something wrong.

Something felt off, it was quite maybe a little too quite. The swish of weapons or rustling of leaves was usually apparent but it was deathly silent and it was unsettling. "Guys I have a bad-" before I could finish my sentence an arrow shot past me and splintered up in hitting the tree behind me. Shit.

"Ri, Cass, you see that tree over there climb it and hide in that tree cavity. And no matter what do not under any circumstance come out until I tell you." I ordered as I scanned the tree line seeing dozens of people running to encircle us. "Lyn and Nate, Northwest. Dan and Aaron, Northeast. I've got the rest." I hollered pulling out my two guns, as the people inched closer and closer. "Are you insane ?! That leaves you with the South, Southwest, Southeast, West, and East. Your going to get killed." Nate complained franticly as the other three boys rushed off to their new posts.

"Nathan I know how to handle my weight, and I've done stupider things. I'll be fine now go, before they reach us." I shooed him away as Ariel began to whine for the millionth time today. "What about me ?! I can't defend myself. I'm tied up, I don't want to die !" Ariel complained as she sat propped against a tree. "Look Ariel you have two choices, shut the hell up or let me beat you senseless." That got her to zip a lip as the tribe heading towards us stopped a few paces away from me, completely surrounding our small group.

"Well, if it isn't little miss savior. How long has it been, five, six months ?" A cloaked figure mused with an oddly familiar voice. Not this jerk please let it be anyone but him. The person pulled their hood down to reveal none other that Blake Ryder, the infamous quarterback from my old school, and unfortunately my ex boyfriend. If I knew the end of the world was going to be full of a bunch of cheating douches I wouldn't have made so many enemies.

"Don't know, don't care. What do you want Ryder ?" I hissed as we stood at an arms length away from one another. "Your weapons, and you dead." He stated simply, almost bored. Nice to see you still care ever so much. "Let me guess, Jax said he'd give you rifles and ammo if you brought me back dead ?" I asked casually as I gripped my two guns that I held at my waist. "Yeah that just about sums it up." Blake said nodding as he swung his crossbow over his shoulder.

Blake was the leader of the Bandits one of the deadliest groups out there to them killing wasn't just something they had to do to survive it was a sport. The only thing keeping them from slaughtering the few people that were left was that they only had manual weapons, like bows and knives. So they would do just about anything to get there hands on a few guns. "So are we going to do this the easy way or the hard way ?" Ryder asked as I looked past him to see just how many people he brought along. At least fifty people stood behind him on my side not to mention that we were surrounded by all sides. Well fuck.

"I feel flattered that you thought you would need so many people to kill little ol' me." I chuckled with forced smile. "Look Gale, your dead either way and I like you, hell your great in bed, so why don't you just give me a gun. One shot in the forehead, I'll let the rest of your group go and that's that, what'd ya say ?" he reasoned slicking back his blonde hair. "Yeah, I'm good. I plan on outliving you, Jax, and all of your other little friends here." I loudly stated, then, before anyone could do anything, I pulled up my left gun and shot Blake in the heart, "And for the record you were horrible in bed."

It was like the world had frozen no one moved an inch, no breathed, and everyone watched as the all powerful Blake Ryder fell to his knees and died with a look of utter shock on his face. Good riddance. Then all hell broke loose as the remaining maybe fifty in front of me ran forward to kill the person who had killed their precious leader. I pushed all other thoughts out and focused on keeping Ri safe. And I let the monster out.

Ten guys surged at me and I shot five dead with my gun on the right and the other five with the one on the left. More kept rushing and I kept shooting, at one point I had to switch out my guns for the ones clipped to my waist and I killed until I was surrounded by a mass of corpses. I threw away the two guns with empty clips that were covered in dried blood, I had bashed a few skulls in, that I was holding. I had gotten a few cuts here and there, no doubt I had also ripped my stiches but I would survive.

With ragged breath and blood running down my shoulder I stepped over the dead bodies and walked over to check on Nate, Lyn, Dan, and Aaron. I wielded a knife just in case any of Blake's group had survived my rampage. "You two alright ?" I asked Aaron and Dan who were sitting up against a tree. "Oh, I'm goo-" Aaron tried to say but ended up puking his guts out. "Yeah baby-boy over here stabbed some dude and has been vomiting ever since. I'm fine go check on the others." Dan grumbled twirling his gun on his finger.

I just nodded in reply then continued on to the next two idiots, "You two dead yet ?" Both Lyndon and Nathan glared up at me from their hunched over panting positions. "I'll take that as a no, anyway when you guys are done whatevering come back to where we were earlier." I muttered. "And hurry up will you, we've got an hour or two before dark." I said over my shoulder as I walked to go check on Ri and Cass.
